Im guilty of buying everything ready done this year. Being 7 months pregnant, I cant face putting my hand up a turkey or peeling a mountain of veg!
Hence Xmas Dinner looks like this:
Starters - none. Learnt my lesson over the years, as we all pig out on prawns or pate and then have no room for the roast! This year we are having a small family dinner (just us and my mum) and more family over for a "high tea" where I will put out all those lovely prawns, cold meats, salads, pickles etc.
Turkey Crown, courtesy of M&S. Already bought and awaiting the hard task of being put in the oven exactly as is (even comes with its own roasting tin!)
Roast tatoes - loads as this is our family fave. Ready done Aunt Bessies Im afraid (they taste good though!).
Roasted Parsnips with a honey mustard glaze - another M&S buy.
Yorkshires - Aunt Bessies again!
Sprouts - ready done with chestnuts and I will put my own butter glaze on.
Brocolli at the kids request (ready prepared florets!!)
Stuffing - M&S ready done Sage & Onion with those little sausages wrapped in bacon as well.
Turkey Gravy (M&S again - oh the shame!!!)
Dessert - Trifle for me, Choccie ice cream for kids and a selection of mini Xmas puds and mince pies with brandy butter.
Drinks - Kumala Chardonnay Semillion (allowing myself one glass!) and Wolf Blass Shiraz. Plus Peach Schloer and appeltise for the kids.
Boxing day I have a selection of other meats, including gammon, beef and another turkey crown. Dh likes this with bubble and squeak!
