So this Christmas will be our first time visiting during the holidays. We understand that the crowds will be off the hook, so we want to take it really slow. We want to have a really nice dinner on Christmas night. What suggestions do you have. I'd prefer signature at a resort, but would love to hear what my fellow DISers think. TIA!

The last two times we were there for actual Christmas day we had Christmas dinner at Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. WL is arguably the most beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. The atmosphere is very festive and Artist Point itself is a great restaurant.

My vote for signature dining would be California Grill or Yachtsman Steakhouse, depending upon what you and your family enjoy eating.

Artist Point is one of our fave restaurants and I was thinking about it for the very reason you posted. I have heard that the decor at Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous.

And to the other poster, Yachtsman is one we're considering. We've never had dinner there. Have you? Did you enjoy it? Is it "special" enough for Christmas dinner?

My vote goes to Narcossee's. The Grand Floridian for us is the most outstanding resort for the holidays. The lobby will have a ginger bread house with hidden mickeys. There will be an orchestra in the balcony playing Christmas music. During their breaks a piano player will take over in the lobby. There's a Santa Claus in the lobby, too.

If you time your reservations with the MK fireworks you will be able to enjoy them at the restaurant. You can also go to the dock and enjoy them there.

I think Yachtsman's is really good. Much better than Le Cellier. However after reading the above posters idea, I'm thinking of changing our CA grill to Narcossee's!!!!

Yes, whatever you choose, make it a resort restaurant without complicated transportation. We were at BWV for Christmas last year and ate at Trattoria al Forno. Not signature but still lovely and the resort was a ghost town because everyone was in the parks. We had a lovely evening having dinner, getting ice cream and watching the shows on the Boardwalk.

Artist Point is excellent and WL will be gorgeous. But, again, I would recommend really any signature that is relatively easy for you to get to. Transportation in WDW on Christmas Day will be very slow.

I also agree with the idea of eating somewhere that's easy to get to. We were staying at Beach Club Villas at Christmas so ate at Flying Fish. It wasn't at all Christmassy but it was an excellent meal with great service and it was lovely just being able to stroll round Crescent Lake to get there.

A friend just turned from WDW and has not stopped singing the praises of Artist Point. I think that with the decorations, I woudl choose AP after her shining reviews.

So now I'm torn between Artist Point and Narcoossee's. I've eaten at both and had outstanding meals. Narcoossee's would be fabulous for the fireworks and all of the Grand Floridian festivities, but I also really want to see Wilderness Lodge in all of its Christmas glory. Decisions, decisions..........Thanks everyone!

I would do both. Choose one on another day. We have taken the carriage ride at Wilderness and we liked it, but the weather has to be good.
