Anyone have any suggestions on Christmas dinner at DL this year?

Staying at GCH and would like to do something special for dinner Christmas Day. Was leaning towards Napa Rose, but was wondering if there was anywhere that does anything special for Christmas Day that might be a better idea?

Napa Rose would probably be a great place to have a nice, special Christmas dinner. I would bet that Carthay Circle has a special menu, too.

Honestly, I think that most of the table service restaurants in the parks, hotels and in Downtown Disney would either have a special menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, or at least a couple of items added to the regular menu just for Christmas. Also, on the less expensive side, some of the better counter service restaurants (Plaza Inn and French Market, for example) would probably have some Christmas-specific items.

In this post from the Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread, there is a category for Christmas dining. The links included in it may give you some ideas of meal options for Christmas.

For some odd reason, the Disney Parks Blog never seems to cover Christmas dining options for Disneyland Resort in depth. I am hoping that they finally do a proper blog on the subject this year, which lists all of the places serving special Christmas fare. The Parks Blog does a special Blog about Christmas dining options at WDW, and they do a yearly blog about Thanksgiving meal options at DLR. They even did a New Year's Eve dining blog for DLR last year...but nothing extensive for Christmas?:confused3

Thanks for that. I did have a look on the Disney Food blog (which has never steered me wrong!) but you're right, seems to be a little light on for Christmas options at DL.

Given the ADR's for Christmas open in the next week I am researching away this weekend :)

Getting excited for my trip

I love the Disney Food Blog, but they're not an official Disney source, so they are more a fan-based website rooted in reviewing Disney parks' food, and not under any particular deadline (for example, they don't have to put up a Christmas dining blog before reservations open for Christmas dining).

It's the Disney Parks Blog -- which is an official Disney source -- that puts out detailed blogs with lists of all kinds of Thanksgiving options at DLR, and Christmas dining options at WDW, but doesn't seem to put out any comprehensive blogs with lists of Christmas Eve/Day meals, for some inexplicable reason.:confused3:confused3

The MousePad post (which is included in the post I linked above) had a pretty good list of Christmas dining options last year, and that's the best guideline as to what will be available (approximately) this year, until -- hopefully -- the Disney Parks Blog finally puts out a good, detailed Disneyland Resort Christmas Eve/Day dining installment!

This is where I miss Liberty Tree Tavern at WDW. Christmas season needs a good Christmas meal. Unfortunately, DL doesn't have a "home" food restaurant. At least, that I can speak to.

I used to subscribe to the official blog and then one day recently it stopped coming and for the life of me I have never been able to work out from the website how to subscribe again. :confused3

I stopped getting the emails as well. I think that they just stopped sending them out, to be honest. The Parks Blog didn't announce it first and let us know that they were no longer sending out the emails, but that's what happened.:confused3 I wish they were still sending them out, but I suspect that it was getting a bit tricky because the emails were arriving one day after the blogs actually went up on their site -- which would frustrate people who wanted to enter certain contests or sweepstakes for limited time events, only to find out that they missed the window of opportunity by 24 hours.

It seems like there could have been a way to continue sending out the daily emails without including the contests or sweepstakes that had ended on the precious day -- but maybe I expect too much from Disney!:rotfl2:

Now I subscribe to the RSS feed, which is more immediate -- although I still liked getting the emails too.

Do Christmas ADRs open on 10/26?

I am pretty sure the answer to this is yes. We have been hovering to book our ADRs this week for our Christmas trip...so from everything I have read this is how it will work. Good luck!

I was able to book Christmas Eve today, so hoping to be able to do Christmas Day tomorrow.

Yep we got our days booked up - just Christmas day left to go and we will have all our reservations set!
