Hi,.
We have decided to go to Disney over Xmas this year,
I have wanted to do it for many years after only going September, October, may, June etc
My husband will be deployed for Xmas 2018 so we thought we would make this one special,
I've heaed that disney add holiday sur charges to meals in December, holiday periods, does anyone know how much this is ontop if normal prices?

Also we are offsite this year apart from maybe 5 nights. So we won't have ddp for first time in 11yrs!
We a free a party of 6 all kids over 10! Therfore will only be doing a handful of onsite meals.
Can any one suggest a good place for Xmas lunch? I'm thinking onsite.

We was going to go for crystal palace, for early breakfast then leave when park got busy.
Or maybe tusker house, or whispering canyon xmas lunch, has anyone done this?
I think we will try and book something in epcot for dinner new years eve, any recommendations? I've heard about the buffet they do at showcase pavilion,
Sorry it's long,
Thanks

I'm not where I can look it all up right now, but I think only certain restaurants have "special" or a more traditional Christmas meal - if that is something you are wanting. We usually do Chef Mickeys for lunch and one of the shows for supper on Christmas Day. But that is partially because we go to a church service at the Contemporary that morning.

On NYE even with a reservation I believe they still experience park closure due to capacity, so you will still need to be there early. Make sure and check historically on this.

I'm hoping that because it's Epcot there won't be a park capacity closure, since it's so big?

That is probably right in Epcot and dining reservations may be one of the times you can get in anyway . We don't ever stay until NYE, we usually leave a day or two after Christmas.

Personally if I was going to be in the parks on NYE or Christmas Day I'd just eat there so you don't have to deal with going back and forth.

I think Liberty Tree would be more traditional for. Christmas dinner. Epcot has a lot of great places. I've always been partial to San Angel Inn in Mexico.
