Still in the planning stages but christmas day is an important day and want something special !!
Of course my dream would be to have a wonderful breakfast at Crystal Palace and spend the day at Magic Kingdom but people keep saying avoid that park on christmas. Im disappointed. Can someone that has spent Christmas day give me some pointers and suggestions? Not too expensive (theres 5 of us) Also what would be the best time to eat? Maybe i should do an early lunch ? Thanks

So does anyone think im crazy if i book Crystal Palace for christmas morning? I would love some advise from the experts.......

I say if that is what you want to do....go for it.

Crystal Palace is a wonderful way to start that day. Will it be crowded? Yes it will. Will it bother you? Don't know only you can answer that.
But to be in MK on Christmas Day......why not?

So ask yourself why do I want to be in that park on that day. And if the crowds aren't going to ruin it for you then do just that.
If they will......well then you may want to plan another park.

Have fun on your trip!

We avoided any park on Christmas Day last year and went to Whispering Canyon Cafe for lunch. it was great. Traditional Christmas dinner with turkey, briscuit, chicken, ham, mashed tatoes and gravy, cornbread, dressing, salad with pinenuts, yule log for dessert. You could still get the all you can drink milkshakes too. It was a wonderful atmosphere with the tree in the lobby and the fireplaces everywhere. Very "homey" feeling. If you decide not to venture into the parks try looking up WCC. It was wonderful!:thumbsup2

If you have your heart set on MK for Christmas meal, go for it.BUT be aware that you need to arrive BEFORE rope drop and plan on staying there till AFTER you dine. MK does close to capacity on Christmas Day , and if a Phase 4 closing happens ( and it does, usually on and off during the day and sometimes as early as 1030am) , having an adr will NOT get you into the closed park. You would miss your adr.I am not saying this to scare you, but we didn't know this our one trip during that week, and we MISSED our holiday meal.

We've done Christmas at WDW for the last 2 years and the parks have been at a stage 4 before 11am both years, last year was earlier then the year before and opened later then the year before as well. If you want CP for Christmas bf its doable just make a early ADR and get there even earlier. Then once you are done breakfast you might have a little bit of time before the crowds really start coming in and you can head out.

We normally let the kids pick a breakfast and a dinner that day. This year they have picked WCC for breakfast and CM for dinner. They don't get gifts really. Just stockings filled with little things and then a special disney experiance. One year it was BBB and another the pirate cruise so thats what we do for the day. This year we have no clue what we are doing yet.
