Ok we have booked our Christmas stay with dvc 12/22/03 to checking out on 01/02/04 at BWV the only problem is the last 3 nights .The nights prior to them we have managed to get in a standard studio but there is none available for the last 3 nights so we have gone on the wait list (we rang every day at 11 months) They had preferred views but did not book them do you think the standard studio will come available at the 7 month window when people start chopping and changing there resort and give up there standard studio rooms as these take up the least points.we will have to borrow from next years allotment so I don’t wont to risk borrowing too many as we have used a lot on our may vacation
Thanks Paulh

I seriously doubt anything standard view is going to come open. According to figures recently posted on this board, standard view rooms are only 10% of all the rooms at BWV, and studios are the hardest to come by. If you can get it, I'd book preferred views for those nights just in case, then stay on the day-by-day waitlist. It could happen. Over New Year's you'll definitely want some kind of backup on-site reservation or you might end up coming home early.

For Christmas 2002, I called everyday at 11 months for 5 standard view studios. I was successful for all nights, except for New Year's Eve. I went ahead and booked PV for the four studios I needed, and waitlisted for SV. By October, all four of the standard view rooms came through. I tried to switch my 5 studios to preferred views for all of the nights at 11 months out from check-out, but of course, couldn't get confirmed for those either. I just didn't want my family having to check out of one room and into another room for the last night of our trip. So, I would encourage you to waitlist and be optimistic! My first studio came through in April and the other three came one at a time until the last one in October. Good Luck!

thanks for the reasurance. WDWguru I don`t want to borrow points from year 2004 for a prefered as if the a standard comes up i will not be able to bank them back
Thanks Paulh

Understood on the banking. But I still wouldn't want to make plans for WDW over New Year's with no reservations for the last three nights. Perhaps you could book something for cash at one of the other on-site resorts through CRO and just cancel if your waitlist comes through.
