Christmas Decorations?

Hi All,

We decided to advance our trip by a few days so that we would arrive on the 30th, in time to welcome the New Year in at the Kingdom of The Mouse. My question is will the Xmas decorations still be up and if so...for how long?

Also, we will be staying until January 24th. It seems that Disney is closing down by 7 p.m. most evenings. Does that mean that they will not have my most ADORED SpectroMagic Parade? It is my favorite thing about Disney...I cry every time I see it...it is SO BEAUTIFUL.

A couple of years ago, my Niece and I arrived on Jan. 1 and left on the 6th. Christmas decorations were still up when we got there but were all gone by the time we left. I was glad she was able to see the Osbourne family lights.

I have read about The Osborne Family Lights. What is this and where can it be seen? Are there other Christmas/New Years things that Disney still offers by our December 30th arrival?

We have been a few times during this time frame and I can tell you that almost if not all decorations are down by January 6th. It was amazing at the WL, went to bed at night with full lights and when we went to the lobby at 9AM the next day they were gone! Osbourne is done by then as well. I think it is the 12 th day of Christmas on the 6th. I am not sure how long the CP goes to, I think til the beg. of the New Year. It must because we saw it last year after our arrival on Dec. 25th. I believe MVMCP is done by then though. Hope this helps.

It would appear that your Spectromagic parade is available if you go at the times indicated at the link above.

The decorations were there for the first day or two and then slowly came down. There were still some up through the ninth, but just a few.

There were a few nights when MK was open a little later for spectromagic. We had a great seat and loved it. Find out in advance and plan accordingly. It was only going on two nights we were there, so we are glad we looked in advance so we did not miss it and were able to wait to get good seats!

It will be beautiful when you are there. I LOVE Disney at Christmas. Something extra special about Main Street in my mind
