Our last trip we were there on Halloween and we saw them starting to go up on Nov. !st. In fact we've got a pic of the CHristmas tree in front of AK on Nov 5th I think?

They're slowly going up now. i was at the Grand Floridian Saturday and the gingerbread house was up but the tree wasn't. At Old Key West the shop was decorated but not much else. I was also surprised to see the big trees up and lit at the parks.

Most are up by mid November. A few are finished along the way. Finishing touches are added after they tape the Christmas Day Parade. So they are complete after the first weekend in Dec.

I will be staying off site. I'd love to visit the resorts to see the decorations and perhaps have lunch. Will I be able to get in to them? In other words, I think when I stayed at POP, we had to go through the gate and show our pass. Do they stop you before you go in and can you just tell them you're visiting?

Yes, Just let them know that you want see the decorations and/or eat. They may direct you to specific parking area. Be sure to visit WL and Gf.
