Christmas Decorations

No they are up long before Thanksgiving, ususally begining in October I believe. I think Small World and Haunted Mansion may close as early as September (I'm not sure on this so someone correct me) to get their holiday overlays installed.

HM goes down in Sept for it's layover and IASW goes down in October. New Orleans Square is the first to get Christmas decorations and their going up by early-mid October. Everything else is up by the first or second weekend of November. It's not an overnight transformation at DL, more of a little by little thing. All Christmas events are going by the weekend before Thanksgiving, including the parade and snow after the fireworks (or just the snow if the fireworks are cancelled).

It's pretty magical to go at the beginning of November....each day there are new things to see. When we went, we tried to be the first person to see something new. It might be new flowers, decorations, or signs. The cast members work hard at night!!!

They will usually post online what their first "offical" weekend of Christmas is but like everyone is saying it is before Thanksgiving.

When we went the last weekend in October thru the first weekend in Nov, HM Holiday was running, but IASW was closed until Friday on the Nov weekend. Also when we got thereon that Friday Main Street was decorated with the big tree in town square and the buildings all had garland and decorations. The IASW lane area was decorated too and IASW was transformed to the holiday version. It snowed on us after the fireworks. They didn't have the holdiay parade yet though.
