Christmas Decorations in Nov??

I was wondering when Disneyworld starts decorating for Christmas. Disneyland normally is the first week of Nov. and everything is up is this true in WDW too? Thanks!


Also, does anyone know if WDW will ever get the Holiday overlay on Small World and HM??

I'm interested in this topic too. We're planning on going either the week after Thanksgiving or the week after that. Probably the week after Thanksgiving to avoid Pop Warner. My husband is already not 100% sold on WDW, and to compound that with hundreds of cheerleaders might put him over the edge.

Anyway, my concern is, if we go the week after Thanksgiving, will we get the same Christmas effect that we would if we waited another week?

If you are there anytime after Thanksgiving you will get the whole holiday thing. The holiday decorating begins in early Nov. Different resorts have slightly different schedules. The parks also start bit by bit in early Nov. By Thanksgiving week, it's pretty much a done deal. Then, on Thanksgiving Day all the shows are apt to start up...MVMCP, CP, storytellers in Epcot. So, if you do the week after T-day, you won't miss a thing. It won't be any more Christmasy on Christmas Eve than that week after T-day!!! A wonderful time to go.

We were there for the last week of W&F fest and most of the decorations were up already, but no special shows were going.

We were there this past thanksgiving week. It was totally decorated. Be sure if you are there Thanksgiving week you plan to see the Osbourne lights at MGM. They were great! My kids loved the "snow."
