The housekeepers came today so we had to have the tree down if we wanted to maximize their presence. Plus our plans are to be on a cruise over New Years and the tree has already been up since the day after Thanksgiving and was the very definition of a fire hazard.

I just got all the tubs put away and the tree hauled away.

Ready for Valentines Day!

I saw a tree on the curb on Christmas Day around 3 pm. That was something that occurred to me, that maybe they were already or soon would be traveling and needed it down before they went.

Starting today. I started our Christmas house transformation on Nov 4th, so I’m ready to transition into clean, white New Year decor.

Our oldest daughter and fiancé are flying out on Jan 6th to visit and was shocked I wasn’t going to have a tree up. I was said “gurllll, that’s a winter visit you planned, not Christmas.” LOL

Today is our clean up day.
We put the tree up a week earlier than usual.
We cut it ourselves but it is starting to shed needles.
Clean up day is always a bit sad!

Yes. Everything was down yesterday. We don’t have much anymore just a 4’5” tree and 1 tote only for decor. It was all put away within 30 minutes. Like a clean start going into the New Year. Plus we have 2 early January birthdays where I’m in birthday planning/shopping mode this week.

Will be down by tonight. My parents used to keep up until we went back to school but I find it depressing after 12/25.

I helped my mom take down a bunch of stuff at her house yesterday. She has lots of heavy things to carry up the stairs. Most of it was taken care of.

I am the only one in the office and it's pretty quiet, so I am stripping down the scant few decorations that we had around this year. I am not exactly sure where they are stored thogh, but I am gathering them up.

I'll be taking mine down over the next couple of days. Its in the way in our small space and I need my living room back.

The decorations will come down the weekend of January 8-9.

December 25th: First Day of Christmas
January 5th: Twelfth Day of Christmas
January 6th: Epiphany

Some things that help with this - First, we don't put decorations up until after Thanksgiving, sometimes even into December. Also, we have an artificial tree so we don't have to worry about the tree dying/drying up. Lastly, our extended family enjoys the season together the week between Christmas and New Years based on some complicated work schedules. I still have two "Christmases" to celebrate this week!

Everything went back into bins yesterday. Today the bins will go out in the shed.

I'll probably start putting things away later this week, I still have some extended family visiting today and Wednesday so will keep it festive. :santa:

I normally keep ours up until after the Epiphany but our kittens are driving me nuts with climbing it and I have 2 short trips planned over the next 2.5 weeks so really no point to keep it up! I plan to take it down tonight!
