When are the Christmas decorations removed from the resorts?

Usually the first week of January.

New Year's Day was a Friday the year we went in January.

We arrived on Sunday; all GF decorations were gone the next morning when we went to breakfast.

The Disney elves don't wait around once the holiday season is over.

But we've been there a few times for Marathon weekend and some years they leave the decorations up so the runners can see them. Then, I assume, they take them down right afterwards.

Usually by the 5th or 6th but it could be anytime the first week of January.

But we've been there a few times for Marathon weekend and some years they leave the decorations up so the runners can see them. Then, I assume, they take them down right afterwards.

The PARKS stay decorated through the Marathon on the Sunday in January but depending on that date and when New Years falls, that can be a gap of several days (the latest recent Sunday Marathon was January 13 in 2019 and 2013 for example). So the RESORTS have their decorations taken down on their own timetable. Resort decorations are not held for the marathon event but park decorations are.
