My DS and I will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge. We will be renting a car. I'd like to head over to Ft. Wilderness and see the Christmas decor that the campers have put up on the night we arrive. I looked into the wagon rides but I am not sure we'd be able to make it in time. Our flight gets in at 6:20, then get luggage and car, travel, and check-in. After check-in I'd like to head over to DTD and eat at Earl of Sandwich and then maybe go to Ft. Wilderness to check out the lights. Can we just drive through the resort and look? Is there another way to see them that is more on our schedule than the wagon ride? TIA! :wave2:

if you are not staying at FW you will not be able to drive a car through the campground. You could park in the community parking lot at the front and take the internal bus system through the camp but they will only stop at the bus stops.

If you are at Wilderness Lodge just get on the boat that goes to Fort Wilderness. As said, if you are not staying at FW you can not drive around. Once at Pioneer Hall you could get a bus to the Meadows Trading post and rent a golf cart and drive around that way. Don't know what it costs or the shortest period you can rent one for...

It's about a 2.5 mile walk from Wl around the campground and back to Wl. That what be my suggestion.
