Now that I know we will for sure be in the world on Christmas Day I am wondering the best place to start searching on the boards for things that go on for Christmas Day. If anything?

Ty:)

When we have been there I don't remember any special things going on for Christmas Day. We did go to Animal Kingdom one year early in the day and I have pictures where we were the only ones in line at Dinosaur. We did everything we wanted there and then spent the rest of the day and evening at the MK. As the day went on the crowds got bigger and the lines longer.

If you are trying to distinguish Christmas Day from other days during that week, there is little different; I think some of the restaurants/buffets at the resorts may have a Christmas Brunch. Otherwise everything that happens Christmas Day happens every other day of the week except that the Santa Claus at MK finishes up on Christmas Eve.

But every day is Christmas during that season. Lights, shows, parades, etc. are Christmas themed. Decorations abound everywhere. The nations at EPCOT are holiday themed. The Osbourne lights at Studios are a must. There is a lot to see everywhere but that is for everyday not just Christmas.

The deluxe resorts usually have some activities on Christmas Eve (singers in the lobby, Santa, Mickey/Minnie), but I can't say I recall anything that unique on Christmas Day itself. We just relaxed and went out to dinner - it's a good day to avoid the parks, especially MK.

We have XMAS dinner (noon) at Whispering Canyon in the WL-super XMAS spot, then head over to MK for the XMAS day parade-hang out into the eve for the catle lighting and hang out on Main Street as it snows. :santa:

This was XMAS day 2007:

We have been to wdw for the last 7 xmas weeks, but they do not always include xmas day(we go sun-thurs as we are dvcmembers and drive from Boston). When we have been there for xmas day..we choose not to go to a park..and especially not MK..it usually closes to all guests(including resort) by 10am and then you just have to be lucky when you arrive that the capacity is decreased and they let some folks back it..it fluctuates). We stay at dvc so we usually bring a small tree sleep late, open stockings(yes even though we are adults with no young kids anymore) and go to late breakfast 10:45 or so..1900PF and Boma the past 2 times. Then we have gone to DTD, dhopped, seen movie etc, then head to a resort for dinner(CG, Il Mulino). One year we went to ICE! at Gaylord Palms hotel(very quick drive) and it was really fun..wonderful interactive ice sculptures). You can always see the evening MK fireworks from Poly beach or go into epcot via IG to see Illuminations and exit back to BW area after...we just think that the parks are too crazy on the holicay..love the rest of the holiday week.

This year we arrive xmas day and have dinner adr at Ohana and will watch wishes from Poly to end the night.

We also usually avoid MK just because that is just too many people for our taste. I think we often end up at Epcot. We take a small tree and lights to hang on the balcony and stockings for the kids (4 and 2 now) and open gifts from Santa in the morning. We have a nice Christmas Eve dinner, usually Jiko and then catch the Christmas characters and Santa somewhere. We do Christmas Day late lunch somewhere. As someone mentioned, many places have special menus for Christmas Day and some just change their menu to special Christmas Day pricing (Le Cellier only had their dinner menu all day... Who wants a huge steak for lunch, especially when it's like 10am at home?)

I'm gonna brave the crowds this Xmas. Bkfast at Crystal Palace and then dinner at Tonys Town Square. Not leaving the park.
