We are attempting Christmas week at WDW for the first time and we cannot decide which part to attend on the 25th? Do we risk the extremely intense crowds at MK or enjoy the holidays around the world at EC?

Start the morning at MK. Get there before 7am. Do a bunch of rides before the crowds come. Tomorrowland was dead for the first hour. Leave MK at lunch and head to World Showcase in the afternoon cause you'll probably need a drink. :p Enjoy! :thumbsup2

I agree with PP. I would brave the MK crowds in the morning and stay until the parade because that seems like a really Christmasy thing to do on Christmas Day. Then, I'd head to Epcot for Christmas dinner (more good dining choices there) and maybe the Candlelight Processional.

We are not crowd people at all but since DH is a teacher and DS is in high school - this is the only time we can go (summer filled with baseball). We have done Christmas day at the parks. Whatever park you decide - go at RD (and it will be early if you are staying on-site) and then plan to be out of there by 1 PM. We then stay away from the parks the rest of the day and enjoy the pool, resort hopping, open presents, etc. Magic Kingdom reached capacity by mid-day the last time we were there. That will be the busiest park. We always opt for another park as we don't feel the need to be at MK on Christmas Day.

I completely forgot about the Candlelight at Epcot, that would be a great way to celebrate the holiday, thanks for the reminder!!

I was going to say AK also. I have heard it is the slowest on holidays. Everyone goes to MK so I would avoid that!

Christmas Day at MK is soooooo busy! All of Florida empties into MK, we think! It takes a long time to get to the monorail, never mind on it. It is packed! I would not recommend MK, if you want to get on any rides, but on Christmas morning, it is magical. Good luck!

If you plan on doing this Christmas Eve or Christmas night the best way is to get the dining package that comes with Processional seating. It is difficult to get a seat these evenings otherwise.

We are planning ak until lunch then heading back to the resort and going to mk around 7ish I looked at last years wait times and it looks like that would be the best and stay out til 12 or so and sleep in the next morning

Definitely prepare yourself mentally for the fact that you'll be at WDW during the busiest time of the year. If you set your expectations correctly, you can have a great time. Flexibility and a good attitude are key. There is a risk that the Magic Kingdom park could reach capacity that week, particularly on Christmas Day. If this happens, some guests will be turned away from the parking lot or even the turnstiles during the busiest time of the day.
