Christmas Day Parade question

Just starting to think about a trip next December...what time is the Christmas Day Parade in MK? (I believe this is the one that was on TV??) I didn't see it listed on the WDW website. Thanks!

It's in early December. I have no idea what the exact dates are though.

I am fairly sure that it is not filmed live.

Correct, the parade is not filmed live and is normally taped the first weekend in December.

The parade that you see on TV is not live on Christmas day, it is filmed the first weekend in December. However ON Christmas day they will run the normal Christmas parade (no added floats like you saw on TV, the Pirates float, the Cars stuff, etc) for the guests that are in the park. This year it is being offered at 12:30 and again at 3:30. It runs in the park in place of the day parade starting after the last Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party through New Years (so this year it was from Dec 22-31)

I was there by chance one year. It was 12/12/04 if I remember correctly. I heard that they were filming over that whole weekend. It is not like seeing a regular parade though. It only runs on a small part of Main St. where they are filming. It was very very very difficult to get a spot to see it. Also, they do not do the whole thing at one time, and often repeat certain parts. To see it all, you would probably need to stay there for a few hours. It is more of a studio production than a parade. If you want to see a good holiday parade, consider the Christmas party at the MK where they run a holiday parade.

Update: If it is normally the first weekend, then it must have been 12/5/04. I had a hard drive crash in early '05 and lost my pics from that month, so I am not sure.

We'll be there over Xmas next year so we'll miss it. Sounds like it is more bother then it's worth anyway..esp. since there aren't any kids with us. I just hope we make the MVMCP next year..our tenative arrival date is 12/22 but can do 12/21 if that turns out to be the last day of it. Thanks for the feedback!

We were in WDW 11/27-12/2(Monday-Saturday) and they started taping portions (Beyonce) on that Thursday, and i think the actual parade taping was Saturday.
