after coming back from my frist trip last week, I am missing it terribly!!!!

We were going to save up and try the Florida one in maybe two years time.. but I got a feeling I will end up going back to Paris next year lol..

Just wondered is it actually open over the Christmas period IE, xmas eve/day boxing day???

I tried looking on the site but it only went up to October.

Thanks :)

Disney is open every day of the year!!! If you do plan on staying during christmas, make sure you book all your table service meals well in advance. They will be fully booked up on the day and you'll be left eating crap for your christmas dinner!

oh really?? thats sooooooo exciting....

Anyone know when it will be available to book for next Christmas... and does it cost much more than normal for Nov/Dec breaks?

Who else has stayed there for Christmas day?? what was your experience..
Did you give your kids their Christmas pressies before you went? or when you were home?
Do they put on anything special, shows/parades etc to make your Christmas day very magical?
Is it Very busy there at this time? long queues etc?
Are all the restaurants open and serve a Christmas dinner??

Sorry got so many questions now.. I have suddly started to climb back on my disney cloud woo hooo

I'm also considering New Years Eve/day now..

Do they do anything for that too?

I think they do do something for New Year, but from reading what others have said don't go expecting to go on many rides as the park is packed.

I don't think all the restaurants serve a traditional christmas dinner either but as other have said you need to make sure you make reservations very early as many people do this.

Christmas/New Year prices will be dearer then November prices. I think they are usually released mid to late summer??? I could be wrong on that though.

I think its six months before (June) that you can book for on-site hotels.
I have only ever stayed in the HI at Xmas (going this year too), and if you book in advance it can work out quite cheap especially if you already have AP's. I don't really know how much it costs to go outside of school hols because we never can (DH is a teacher:mad: ) so its hard to know how much dearer it is at xmas. Xmas day and boxing day are slightly more expensive than the days leading up to it and after it.

Yes its very busy! But we made the most of the days leading up to it, especially Xmas eve which was quieter. All the restaurants are open, but its the same menu as any other day (the hotels do Xmas lunches & dinners, but they can be very pricey). On Xmas day we had a leisurely breakfast after opening presents, went to see Santa in his village, caught Mickey's Xmas show, had a buffet lunch in Lucky Nugget (non-Xmasy I know). I think we made more use of the free fast passes they used to give out with the AP's that day because it was busier. To be honest we were so pre-occupied with the atmosphere and wonder of DLP that we forgot it was actually Xmas day, so much so that I only remembered on to call relatives back home late at night!.

We took a Xmas stocking each of things for DD(6) and DS(4) last year and small gifts for us (nearly forgot to take something for DH - but got tips from this site last year). The kids were so happy with their stocking fillers, and Santa waited for us to get home so that Xmas day was the next day (turkey and the trimmings etc.). We are going for a whole week this time because it was so fabulous, and New years eve will be our Xmas eve when we get home!

I recommend reading Warebears Xmas trip report (and others) and I promise to get round to writing one this year too to help anyone else who is wondering about going at Xmas. :santa:

I do love the sound of it.. but also I do hate the thought of queuing hours for everything, specially at Christmastime..

I might see the reports from those going this Christmas and see how they get on lol

Are there any of you going the week leading up to christmas this year??? perhaps it would be best to go then. I dont fancy quueing for hours christmas day if we were to go then.

We went mid Dedember last year. It was busy, not too bad though. We did have a difficult time trying to find a seat to have hot chocolate anywhere in the park esp inbetween the parades. Also, we had a small baby that needed feeding a changing so that was a bit of a pain. My DD1 (5) had a great time though. She loved ll the Xmassy costumes, all the decorations, the snow on Main Street, the shops and really didn't mind the cold. DD2 (3 months then) just slept:rotfl2:

Xmas is a very special time and I also wondered what it'd be like there on Xmas Day. I believe it's magical.

Enjoy planning. We had 3 trips in just over a year and now going back in April. Can't wait!:cheer2:
