Christmas Cruising 2005

Jill, tell me again the dates you are thinking of in August. We might be going to London for my cousins daughters wedding, so I hope we aren't going to cross over each other. THe wedding in on 8/12/06. We are thinking of taking time on either side (TBD) to enjoy a vacation. If dates are not an issue, I'm totally into taking you up to SF and the Rock and you are more than welcome to stay with us of course. No extra bed room here, but our playroom can double as the place to sleep, I'd even volunteer Lee's house, she has an extra room now that her boys are older...

So we heard from the sellers agent, ha. The sellers told her that they will reply by the 20th. Something smells like fish here. Whatever, too good a location to be true. But if they crash and burn we at least have our name and number out there.

Gotta get Molly's wanna buy some cookies pictures done...did I mention that she has Yahoo around her little finger? :cutie: Our neighbor runs shipping and receiving there, so he has her picture and sign up sheet posted and ready for sales.

Not to worry I'll upload it for you to see...

I saw your pics today Grim! Awesome as expected!

I was looking at them at work (still on dial-up) very nice job!

I'm making my photos a better size and subtitling them while I'm here :)

Kris - Yes, you have roller skating there. ::yes:: No, I don't ice skate. :scared: There is even a roller skating musem there. I usually stay at the motel across the street from Barnes & Noble. I'd love to meet you. formally.:goodvibes

Nan - the last day of the competition is on the 6th of Aug. I guess that would be cutting it real close. There's always the next year.

Grim, thanks for posting your fantastic photos. Carrying around that humungous camera was worth it, wasn't it. There are a few shots of Molly and Wilson that look like they came out of a models' portfolio. I love your perspective.
And the pink hat...well it really made me laugh!

Nan, I thought I was linking to a cute picture of a pig on another pig's back, but got the monkeys by accident!

Everyone's pictures turned out nice :teeth:

I'm still making mine a more desirable size...

...my next dilemma would be how to fit all 2000 of our pictures into one photo album :scratchin:

Karen: Isn't that the idea that Dom will work on for us....holding 2000+ pictures so we can surf from one spot to see all photos from the trip?

N

p.s. still not sure on this theater, you and I need a rum drink to talk it over....

Aisling: I just caught a glimpse of a cute young man starring out a window....I don't recall seeing that in your photo loot....am I losing it? ALSO WHAT HAPPENED AT WORK???? Do you need some rum, well too bad you can;t have mine, :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: You know I'm kidding I'd order you a drink anytime.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We are off for our 3rd meeting in less than one week for theater. Not sure I'm liking this.... Also the girls got their parts, they are River Bugs. Not sure I'm keen on this either. This could be a who ya know deal, so I'm not sure we are staying in or not. We're going to assess tonight if they have enough time on stage and if they sing and dance or just sktiter across a pond.

I know you have to pay your dues, but we may not want to pay and play in this group, we may just stick to school, brownies, horses, friends....busy life 'eh?

Off to me,

Nan

Hi all!

Kris- I went back to work this week. Its going ok, just way to busy. Another yearbook deadline on Monday, so its work, work, work.

Hi to everyone else!

Gots to get back to work!

Things are pretty quiet now with everyone back to their "old grind" :(

My next planned vacation isn't until September :(

Anyone coming to the outerbanks with me? Yes, it is during school...the 10th to the 23rd of September is (I believe) what Rose and I picked. We book a home size according to how many would be staying with us so if you want in all's I need is a word from you (for now ;) )

The puppy's buggin' and hubby needs a dentist, then I get to go to work...yay...TTFN my friends. Try to have a good day...and Nan, no drinking and drving girlfriend! Make sure you are safe at home when you open that rum...

Okay just to be clear we've been home a couple of weeks now (or at least a week) and all I've had to drink was one glass of wine with dinner last Sunday, and water or Dr. Pepper. See the drinker only comes out on the ship...I'm just a party girl in my own mind :rotfl2: I know you're kidding Tig, but it would be nice if our houses came with drink servers, huh? :scratchin

Okay vacation plans...I'd love to do outer banks, but the school dates scare me, but never say never. Can I think on that one? ::yes::

We got our theater schedule last night, looks ok, mostly one rehersal a week, until the last 2 weeks, then they pile up. And it "looks" like she will be singing in the chorus. And lastly her costume is at least cute. The rest of the actors are wearing 1900's clothes, Molly will look more like a fairy, as the RiverBug. I suppose we will try to do this. I'm not totally jazzed about it. The meetings we parents have had tell me nothing that I couldn't read on the website, so I'm frusrated at spending time (and missing tutoring last night) for that. Crab Crab Crab, get that woman a plate of lobster.

Speaking of which I've wanted lobster inthe worst way since we had it on Xmas. Might have to bust out and find a resturant reason soon.

Okay more vacation talk. With the schedule looking like it does we may be able to go to Dland for Wil's bday. I'm going to see if we can do a 3-4 day trip on the kids school break (week of Feb 20something). I think when I tell Paul he will kill me. But....kids fly and get tickets to Dland free with adults....

Okay going over to see what's availble now....

N

Yes, you may absolutely think on it ::yes::

Rose and I will have to choose a house next month...did I tell you my kids won't be there :)

They'll all be attending college so if they show up it would only be for long weekends...

we also take our doggies with us so you'd not only get to meet my hubby, Stef's parents, but stef's dog gwen and my mika and penny as well.

Give the theatre some time, it sounds like it will be a good experience for her.

I always had one rule with activities, once they were in they were in for the season...if they didn't want to re-up that was always fine with me.

I actually drink more at home than I did on the boat ($$$) but since I've been home I really haven't indulged much.

Snuck in to get an address of my PMs...I'll check back again tonight

That invite to NC was for all my new friends, I hope at least one of you can come~

As I've slept on the theater stuff I feel better about it. I just have to find out how to avoid parent meetings. Or at least Patty (the mom of Hannah, Molly's friend) and I can split them.

So Wilson is home today, runny nose and feeling yucky, I was able to postpone a meeting that I wasn't ready for, good thing to have a kid to use as your oops excuse. With that I have to get out to my computer to get some data entry done so I can be caught up soon.

I'll be thinking on the coast idea, but I have to say when you mentioned your dogs coming I thought of being homesick for mine again...17 days for this last trip was a long time to miss my doggies.

Your posts reminded me of when Tara was younger and did LOTS of community theater. If I had a nickel for each hour I spent sitting in the lobby, basement, dressing room, etc. of some community theater, I could go on a Disney cruise--almost...IF it was an inside cabin.
Anyway, what I am trying to say is that it's a wonderful experience and soon they will outgrow the need to participate in EVERYTHING. I would love it if Tara would go back and get interested in some of the wonderful things she did as a "kid". 15 is the age of malls, TV, boys and shopping and now I long for the days of theater and Brownies again.

Sharon: Thanks, that really helps me step back and ENJOY!!! I know this time will pass all too quickly. I'll take a deep breath and silence my crabbing and enjoy my "little" girl while I have her. I also have to tell you I love hearing about Tara and the adventures of teenage life, I'm looking forward to that time too.

Nan

Live the Day Nanette...

enjoy what you and the kids are doing now,
the teenage years will be here quicker than you think.

I understand you missing your puppies  :dog: :dog:
Would anyone here consider a 4 day Disney cruise on the Wonder to Nassau next January? 010707 to be exact...my threadkiller friends are doing that cruise and I am trying to get John to join in.

Rose also offered us her house at Summer Bay (FL) for early december and I'm having issues with wanting to do all of it but only being able to afford Dec or Jan, not both. :confused3

Just a quick HI here...too much work to do (semester ends tomorrow)

Marcus has been barking since Sat, run low grade temp off & on, so finally ran to urgent care center...doc says its probably viral, but do I want a strep test...IT WAS STREP! Go figure, sure didn't present itself as that! Jack is saying he is "gulping" a lot...red throat, wondering if he, too, has strep! Sheesh!

Not much else here...concerts popping up here again. Rascal Flatts next month (same weekend as our fav band...I'd rather go dancing for cheaper!)
KENNY CHESNEY, SUGARLAND & DIERKS BENTLEY in April--I SO love this Qwest center...really hope a KC center doesn't draw from us eventually!

Well....better go work!
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Kris
PS Hope Wilson is feeling better!

Sent Willie to school today, but I wonder if he has some bug running in him too. Kris, So sorry to hear of the strep. Just seems like we can't keep these kids away from the darn bugs.

Concerts sound so good. I was day dreaming the other day with Smash Mouth blasting in the car that next summer we'll see them again. I can hope.

You won;t believe this, but the seller's agent has come back into play. Our offer expired Tuesday @ 6pm, but I guess their other options are running dry, so who knows maybe the house will come. At this point I let it go, a relief in a way of course, huge mortgage and moving. So I'm kinda afraid of it coming now. But if it comes it comes, not in my control. Wow did I say that?

Back to work, client meeting at 2pm.

Nan

Nice picture of you or your family in the hat @ St. Maarten. Over your left shoulder is our family waiting for the golden eagle. Surprised to see us, although EEk! not a good view of us.

 Great Cruise Though!

Titusville Disney Troup! :maleficen

Hi everybody,

I'm sorry to hear about all the sick kiddos. We've been lucky so far this winter.

Nan, mortgage shmortgage! I hope the house works out, because it's what you really want, even if you're feeling a bit nervous about it. You have the bucks so don't worry! And one great thing that Cali and NYC have in common is that real estate is like a gold mine; if you can't handle the mortgage down the line, you can sell the house and make a ton of money on it. I really want you to get to HMB.

Kris, you busy girl you! We need a supergirl smilie for you.

Tig, thank you for the NC invitation. I'm saving my money for our next WDW trip. I know, there are are other places in this world, but we really want to go back to WDW. I just got my 10 day (with 5 options) non-expiring park hoppers today at the 2005 price, so away they go in the drawer for a future trip. I was thinking of doing the same with Universal Orlando, buying the 5 day tickets now, for $99 each, and putting them away. They also never expire. I really should take a trip to visit my brother and his family in North Dakota. They just moved there from Texas. (air force).

Nan, I gave my notice for the job...that I'll finish the month of January, since I already have my full month's schedule of due progress reports. After that, I'm done. I'm gonna be a housewife again:rotfl2: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

auntsue1, I'm going back to Grim's picture to see you!

Edited to add:
Saw you! ::yes:: :cool1: Now I have a question, did you notice Grim in the pink hat when you were there, or did you just happen to see yourself in his picture? I was wondering if he stuck out with that hat! :cool2: :rotfl:
