Christmas Cruising 2005

Nan--I got my over the door organizers at the $ store..yep $1!
Karen--good price on the underwater cameras...Walgreens had them for $15!
I knew they were less than $10 at Target...but I may have to go to stupid Mart! (I DESPISE Walmart...but my frugal side usually wins out over my bash-Walmart side!)
Your list looks similar to mine...but only 1 highlighter here. Seems I'm the only anal-retentive one. I got some cute gels/clings for the door, too!
Well, trying to decide if gonna cook dinner....
Kris

Hi Gang,
Seems like everyone has been so busy. Grim, Dede, how are you two?
Tig, the box is on the way, doubly secured this time.
I can't believe it's Thanksgiving already. My mom is still here, and we're going back upstate with her for the holiday until Saturday. We're supposed to be doing Christmas at the same time, but it's too much I think. Everything is moving too fast. All I can think of is the cruise, of getting away for a while.

Tig, did you get my message?

We're watching the music awards show...boring. I feel like taking a ride. I have a habit of getting in the car and going for a drive at any hour of the night when I have things on my mind. I don't go far, mainly stuck in traffic anyway, since it's always congested around here even late at night.

Chad got his xbox 360 after 9 hours waiting all night in the rain. The store gave out numbered cards at 6 am, and Chad was 45 out of a total of 50 cards. There were at least 200 very upset, cold, wet , tired people there at 6 am. He got home, showered, and slept half the day. A cool memory.

I think I'm going to go for that ride now.

Hi All!

A very Belated very Happy Birthday to Ms. Jill! :flower: :rotfl: :flower:

Nan, I also enjoyed the book better than the movie. It was a great movie, but I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't know everything that happened in the book. I guess there's only so much you can cram into a book. Also, I'm still upset over losing Richard Harris as Dumbledore. Its hard getting used to the "new" one for me. (ps-congrats on the red dress!)

Lynn, squeezing two holidays in the span of a month is tough, but I wouldn't trade either one. I really love Thanksgiving. :goodvibes

Tomorrow is the "Turkey Trot" at school. The kids run a mile around the school to promote exercise over the holidays. I should at least walk it, but I have to take pictures for the yearbook and video for the video announcements. (convenient excuse, eh?)

I think I've decided not to bring a long dress on the cruise. I will probably wear the pink and black polka dot dress I got for formal night (can't decide if its dressy enough) and then I have two black skirt and sweater outfits for semi-formal and Palo nights.

Tig-good luck with the store opening this week! Bet you'll really be ready for a break come cruisin' time.

Well girls, have a great time at your mini meet this weekend.
Everyone stateside enjoy Thanksgiving, and I'll see you in about a month!

Hi Kris, Karen, Aisling, anyone else I missed!

::MinnieMo Dede princess:

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone (Even to you, Lynn!)

Will be with Dominick's family since we will be with mine for Christmas. But I might as well be home! With MIL and a broken ankle, 90 year old Grandmother and a SIL who does nothing, (read that as N O T H I N G) I will be doing all the cooking and cleaning!!! My SIL wouldn't even go to the grocery store for my MIL. Dom, Kayla and I did our shopping last night with 2 carts, one for us and one for my MIL. How sad is that?

BUT this is a holiday for giving thanks. I thank all of you for your friendship and companionship. I toast all of you in anticipation of meeting you in 30 some odd days!!!:drinking:

We are going to the Rutgers FB game on Saturday. I am not looking forward to that! TOO cold. :cold: Perhaps it will be TOO cold :cold: for mom - she has the tickets and is a devoted fan. Why? I haven't figured that one out yet!! :cold:

Our mini meet has been put on hold due to everyone's schedule and the holiday stress. I plan to spend the extra day by starting to pack!!!! :cheer2: Now when we all meet on the ship, we will all be meeting for the first time!

Enjoy your turkey, napping, football or whatever your fancy is on Turkey Day!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!:flower:

Tigg, Darling.....the chicken is in the cupboard (the package is mailed) 2 day priority, shuuld arrive on Saturday.

Oh my. We are about to have a birhtday party here for Molly's Bitty Baby. Bitty was "born" on the evening before Thanksgiving 5 years ago (today) she travelled with us to Hawaii that year. Oh my 5 years, seems so far away.

Gotta get my biscuts from the oven.

Nan

Ahww she just missed being born on thanksgiving.
I was bron on thanksgiving in 1991...My mom went in at like 6 AM and couldn't leave the hospital even though they knew I wasn't gonna be born until aroun d 10 and I ended up being born at 11:56 PM! I feel bad for my mom because she couldn't eat any good thanksgiving food! she had the hospital junk:guilty:

I just realized that I have nothing, nada, zippo. Should we get something soon?

The Bitty Baby birthday was nice. A little chilli for dinner and a chocolate cake. I figure the longer Molly plays with her baby doll the longer I have a "little" girl. They grow up so fast....

Paul took some shots of Molly and I in our new Xmas glamour gowns, I'll upload and post them tomorrow.

Off to zone in front of the tv, yeah Turkey tomorrow!!!

Happy Holiday to all,

Nan

I think we can expect to get our docs at 21 days and on. Who's going to be first?? This is so exciting!

21 days from cruise date or travel dates, we leave one week earlier for our WDW part, but now since we booked it separately I wonder if we get it any earlier????

I'll be calling on Monday to make sure we have Magical Express and checking out when we get the cruise info....

I was just gonna say that! :)

and to you Lynn and Keith, across the pond as they say, Happy Thursday  ;)

I was just watching Mickey on the Philly TD Parade with a tear in my eye, in a good way princess:

It's almost here. My first ever cruise with Mickey and all my wonderful new friends, and my MOM

Thank you Mama, for a very special, opportunity of a lifetime. :boat:

...to be able to include my daughter and her best friend, whom I've watched grow up for the last ump-teen years, makes this cruise the finale to a perfect year. :grouphug:

LYMI!

Kids were up EARLY (5:30!) here at Grandma's--you would think it was Xmas!
naps for everyone!
I am so thankful to have met all of you...cruise conversation abound here!
About to head up and get ready...pretty relaxing around here. We deep fry the turkey (SO juicy & flavorful--once you try one you will never go back!). FIL bought electric ones this year, so easy & safe.
happy thanksgiving everyone!z
Kris

Good Thanksgiving Morning, from kinda gloomy California:

I'm up pretty late, 10am, so no nap for me. Paul is out doing the annual undigging of the tulips. We (he at my direction) plant about 1000 bulbs a year in our front yard....but since it doesn't get cold enough for the little darlings I buy new ones every year (put them in the fridge for 6-8 weeks) and then dig up the old ones (give them to charity, my parents live in snow country) and plant the new crop. Paul is begining to dread Tday. But the yard looks so good we have neighbors knock on the door and tell us they look great. I'll post pictures (after we sail) they come up around Feb 14th, if we're lucky. The best year for tulips (& dafadils, which we call dafa*WILS*) was 2000, that's the year Wilson was born and I wanted to have lots of flowers for him to come home to. It was beautiful. I dressed him as a ladybug for his baby annoucement and set him in the garden. It was fab.

Molly is asking for a spot of coffee, so I must go and pour....

Happy Day to you all, eat lots and enjoy,

Nan

p.s. yes the parade is a BIG deal here too, but I think I may have over slept for it this year...

For those who've never seen WDW at Christmas it is truly magical to see Santa Goofy and the Christmas decos and all the festivities abound :teeth:

Mom, Brittany and I have had the pleasure but never ON Christmas!

It's ashame that the rest of my fam has to sit this one out but my bil and I are already planning next year :goodvibes:

This means we'll have two this year. Haven't picked a day yet but my family will be invited to some kind of gathering before the four of us leave in December. Definitely a topic of conversation I intend to have with them all today :)

John and Britt are making deviled eggs and DH made mushrooms too to take to dinner.

Relax, Eat and Enjoy People, I'll be thinking of all of you today :)

okay now I have to laugh....Paul took my advice and got some day labors (from the parking lot at Home Depot) to help him dig out te flower beds. I suggested this earlier in the week and he scoffed at me (as usual) but low and behold I went out to tell him thanks and the beds are all uncovered and ready to be planted. I must put on my garden clogs and stick a bulb or two to claim that it's "our project".

btw, the parade is fab. Some year we are going to have to make a Tday on that coast to enjoy it live.

Again, Happy day to all,

Nan

oh and one more announcement..IT'S MY BIRTHDAY MONDAY!! Sorry I HAD to tell someone!hehehe
Happy Birthday Tori
