Christmas Cruising 2005

Grim (& Dede) you look fabulous!!!!!! Grim, I dare say I'm getting that vest for DH. I've seen it on ebay and passed (it was pricey), but when I saw it on you I knew it was a must for the tuxes on formal night. I hope I can get one in Wilson's litle boy size too.

Tigg, I'm good, sick but good. Just got back from the doctor, I have bronchitis. Off to get drugs. Once it is named it can be defeated. I figured it was something, as it is hanging on.

Time is flying with the kids in school all day. What on earth would I do it he was a half day kinder boy????? I'm loving this life...remind me of this in two weeks when I'm sobbing about missing my boy (and girl too, but I've gotten used to missing her)

Ciao,

Nan

This is a hilarious video. I googled to (Gas.wmv) It showed two cars at a gas station & a short man climbing out of a trunk taking a hose from one car & pumping the gas into the car he was in & then putting it back into the other car all while the driver was distracting the other driver.

This is an article from the Disney Insider

The images of the devastation and suffering wrought by Hurricane Katrina have saddened us all. Possibly the worst natural disaster in American history, the storm has left cities and towns devastated and thousands homeless.

In response to this unprecedented crisis, on Thursday, August 31, The Walt Disney Company announced that it would donate $2.5 million to aid relief and recovery efforts in the wake of Katrina. Of that money, $1 million will go to the American Red Cross for immediate relief efforts, another $1 million will go to rebuilding efforts targeted at children's charities, and the remaining $500,000 will be directed to volunteer centers providing services to the affected communities.

"The devastation in the wake of Hurricane Katrina is simply heartbreaking and our thoughts are with those struggling in the aftermath of this disaster," said Michael Eisner, CEO, and Bob Iger, president, COO and CEO-elect of The Walt Disney Company. "We hope that our donation will aid emergency management teams and organizations in their efforts to provide assistance to those impacted."

In addition to the contribution from The Walt Disney Company itself, Disney Cast Members around the world are stepping up to offer donations and assistance. The American Red Cross still urgently needs funds, and we encourage any of our readers who would like to help to donate via The American Red Cross Web Site.

In this time of tragedy, our hearts go out to everyone who has been affected.

Grim and Dede, gorgeous photo! I LOVE that gown, so elegant. But where is your tiara?? Grim, ok, is the suit you're wearing a tux? I know I've brought this up so many times on the other board, but I need to know what do do with my 3 men!

Jill, I'm glad Eisner is giving millions to the relief fund, but not using our ships. But from what you said, they wouldn't want to get onboard anyway!

I have more gown photos if you're interested!

I got my magazines from The Laughing Place-OMG~!!!! If any of you are missing the Disney Mag (mind you they're $8.50 each) these mags are incredible!!

Very insider, very well written, awesome photogs!

~T~

The other red gown I posted was only $20, but I got sniped!!!!!!! I was the only bidder until the last 5 seconds. Bums!
But I found this one, and Dede, doesn't it sorta look like your black gown?

I also like this one, which I think is better for my figure, meaning the swirley skirt part will hide my, uh, pooch.

I know we wish all the best for those in need. Their needs are so great. I feel especially for the children, elderly, and ill. But, can you imagine the condition of the ships after they are gone. In addition to the time the people would be on them, the ships would have to be in dry dock for quite a while for repairs.

I'm feeling blue tonight and not sure why. Part of it may be my baby is starting her Senior year? Watching CNN and MSNBC, etc isn't helping. We are asking for donations at each show to send to the Red Cross. Our goal is $1000 over the 4 weekends. I hope we can make it!

Night all ... pleasant dreams.

Aisling - love all your dresses.

Yup. When I went to the Carnival site, that was built into their timeline. They actually listed time for refurbishment after housing all the refugees.

Aisling~ I think both of the new dresses are very pretty. I also like that earlier dress that you said you'd buy if you were younger. I think if you really like it, then you should get it. I think age/clothing lines are somewhat blurred these days, although I wouldn't want to see my mom in short shorts and a tube top..hehe

Shelly~ I agree with whoever said (Jill?) to get the pantsuit AND the dress. I think that dress is just perfect for a cute little pregnant girl. I love to see pregnant women in "babydoll" dresses.

Tig~your weekend sounds just my speed. Nothing I love better than spending a weekend alone with Grim. Wait~all my weekends are alone with Grim :teeth:

Hi to everyone else!

I love to see pregnant women in "babydoll" dresses.
Me, too! I had Chad in November, so I had the summer to wear the cutest babydoll sundresses while my belly grew. I loved being pregnant. With Jesse, he was an April baby, so I wore a lot of the tight long skirts that really let the belly protrude, like what's popular today. Back then, though, my mom thought I was a disgrace letting the outline of my belly show with the tight skirts. Funny thing is that my belly STILL shows, and it's been 12 years since my "baby" was born. :rotfl:

Dede, if that youngish girly girl dress is still available, I'm going to get it. What the hay, I'm not THAT old! Thanks for the encouragement!

Bumping....where is everyone, buried at work like me?????

I like the purple!

The fabric and cut are nicer and it looks more comfortable.

Our goal is $1000 over the 4 weekends. I hope we can make it!
You go Girl!

Every little bit helps~even prayers.

 you are too much

I quite enjoy my busy house, but every once in a while...

:cloud9:

Hubby and I do very nicely together, and I am grateful every day to have him

Dede, if that youngish girly girl dress is still available, I'm going to get it. What the hay, I'm not THAT old! Thanks for the encouragement!

That one was very pretty too-I hope you get it!

Maybe both ;)

Ayup! Work is crazy and home is too lately!

I believe my Brittany is the last to get to school...she starts tomorrow. I gave her a nudge this morning and reminded her she has school tomorrow...ya think she caught the big giant evil grin I had on my face when I said it

hey everyone
enjoyed looking at the dresses (I love dressing up princess: ). Grandma made most of the dresses i'm wearing, so the only thing i had to was shop for patterns.(even though momma already told you this) only two of the dresses i own are not grandma made. i'm not sure which dresses i'll be wearing, but what ever the dress you can be sure that i have gloves to match. i collect gloves (sad, but true).

AURORA'S Fan
Once upon a time, many years ago. I made my own clothes. Now the only clothes I have that are sewn specifically for me are my skating outfits & I many times wear gloves with them. It gives one a feeling of being elegant.

You have a very special thing going on there. :bride:

YES! I constantly feel like I'm 3 weeks behind at work. I have nine classes to do grades for and progress report grades are due Friday by 3. :teacher:

Teaching would be SO much better without all the grading :rotfl:

I love seeing and hearing about all the dresses, too. Its like talking with your high school girlfriends about prom dresses...hehe :grouphug:

I won a dress on ebay last night. It is really not like anything that I have ever worn. It is a satin chinese dress. Grim pirate: said he liked it last night while I was browsing dresses, so I thought, "what the hay?" I got it for $10.25, and although I almost got outbid by a sniper, I prevailed! :cheer2:

I'll put up a picture of it this weekend. I'm not sure if I'll bring it on the cruise. It will just all depend on whether or not I like it once it gets here.

Aisling~ If I'm ever lucky enough to get pregnant, I am totally going to emphasize that belly!! I won't own one outfit that isn't empire waist to let it stick out! :flower:

Aurora's Fan~ I think its cool that you have handmade dresses. My mother-in-law is teaching me to sew. I might try to make a few little skirts for the cruise if my skills are better by then!

Bye for now!
::MinnieMo Dede princess:

Crazy night. Ran Marcus to urgent care w/ earache...sure enough, beginning of infection. My kids have been on antibiotics so infrequently Marcus didn't even remember the "pink stuff". He went for chewables, not crazy about them but he thought he could handle it.
Dede--don't remind me about checking...may put it off to AM; I am usually at school at 8, but no teaching until almost 10. (kids arrive 8:50, but off to PE, Music, Art or Computer from 9:05-9:55). Helps me procrastinate so well!
Tired...Marcus & Jack were both up w/ bad dreams last night. Night before Dan & I made mistake of having a Diet Pepsi about 7PM. We both tossed & turned all night. HOW can people drink coffee in the evening? LOVE it in AM, but that's it!
Mom & Dad are planning to donate a nice chunk to Katrina victims. Jaycees in town putting together a fund. They will likely give up the Panama cruise they were considering in Nov. to do it. I'm impressed. My folks aren't rich, but they like to travel. Makes me feel guilty looking at a March trip...
AT LEAST I ALREADY HAVE AN XMAS TRIP TO LOOK FORWARD TO! :Pinkbounc
All these dress pics make me wanna go shopping! And I SO do not need a new fancy dress. I didn't even take one on the last cruise cuz I really had enough for a different one each night! (gotta love $12-20 cocktail dresses!)
BUT that one is black w/ finely embroidered outlines of pointsettias in gold...sounds like a good one for Xmas! WAIT! IT WON'T FIT BY THEN! (if I keep saying this, it will make it true, right?! :confused3 :rotfl2: )
Gotta hit the hay.
Night :wave2:

You have a very special thing going on there.
Jill, I so agree with you.
Aurora's #1 Fan, (May I call you Aurora, please oh please princess: ), when I was a teenager, I was so into science, a very serious, technical girl, but as soon as I got behind the closed door of my bedroom, I became Elizabeth Bennett from Pride & Prejudice, swooning over Darcy. Gosh, did I have a very active fantasy life. I had a closet full of thrift shop gowns that I'd put on while I read about Lizzy, uh I mean me, and Darcy. I had the frilly bedding, you name it. But as soon as I left my bedroom, I put on my jeans, put away my Victorian accent, and put my Mr. Darcy locket hidden into my blouse.

You're a lucky young lady to have a gramma who sews!

Dede, I do hope you post the photo of the dress you won!

Tig, you finished smoochin yet? It's beautiful that you and your DH so enjoy your private time together!

School today for Chad, tomorrow for Jesse. Back to the routine. Now I'll only be working from 9 to 2, because I pick Jesse up from school. And next month I start teaching the Wednesday catechism class at his school. I enjoy it very much, love those kids, and it saves me a ton on tuition. Kris, Grim(I think you are a teacher??), and Dede, I give you a ton of credit teaching everyday.

Now I have about 20 towels to fold, piled high on my bed. Ooh I just luv folding towels, so smooth, so sweet-scented, so compliant when I grab one with desperate force and wrap it around my wet body, allowing it to carress me and warm me and make me want to cuddle until I'm lulled into a tranquil sleep in my towels' metaphoric arms, protecting me, watching over me, covering me while I transform into the princess of a lucky man's dreams. :cloud9:
