Can anyone who has traveled on a DCL cruise over Christmas share what it was like? We are looking at going with the entire extended family in 2006 and we're having trouble convincing some family members that we should do it. We will do the 4 day cruise, not the 10. Any info you can share will be appreciated.

Haven't ever done this, but on the "DCL Picture of the day" thread there have been some picture of the awesome decorations on the Ship on CC and at the Port of Christmas decorations - very, very pretty!!

We did the 10 day. It was awesome to be on the Magic on Christmas. It was just DH and myself and I know it would have been even more magical if our families would have been with us. Being away from the kids/grandkids was the only bad part.

We've sailed the week of Thanksgiving and the week after 3 times and LOVE it. Every year we get the "postcard christmas card" from shutters and it's a hit with the family........

Disney makes Holiday cruises magical. My family have done various Thanksgiving cruises, New Year's cruise and Easter cruise. We don't like to take our daughter out of school so we tend to take the Holiday cruise.

They tend to be more expensive but they are worth it. I enjoy the wonderful experiences. For example, on the Easter cruise, my DD enjoyed receiving all the yummy jellybeans. My DH has a collection of the toasting glasses.

Now, how do I convince my husband that the school has vacation for Halloween. :rotfl:

Another 10 day Christmas Cruiser here (hi Angie :wave2: )

We don't have any kids so it wasn't as hard being away for the holidays. In fact it was one of our best holiday seasons ever! Of course we did get guilt from the rest of the family so I don't think we'll be doing it again soon.

Disney goes out of their way to bring the magic of the holidays on board. The decorations are wonderful! Lots of extra entertainment like a children's chorus,
a castmember chorus, Mrs. Claus, Santa, etc. There was even a Catholic Priest on board so we had Mass every day and on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The only downfall was Christmas Day was also St. Thomas day so we had to be up early for immigration.
