Hi, we are thinking of taking the four day cruise over Christmas. I would really like to hear from others who have done this (or are about to), with your thoughts and opinions of how it went, what you'd do different, if you'd do it again, etc.

Thanks in advance to all those who take the time to respond.

Hi Islandhap,
We were on the Wonder for Christmas 2000 and we had a great time. Weather wasn't the greatest but our day at Castaway Cay was hot and sunny. I for one am not too impressed by Nassau, but it was the day after their big Christmas parade and street party so needless to say the town's streets were covered in litter and broken glass. With it being such a gray day it made the place look un-appealing. This being said you might get beautiful weather and see a whole different side of things.
As far as being on board, it was great !! We had special menus for Christmas, decorations all over the ship, and there was a visit from Santa for all the kids under 18 with gifts. We even had snow in the atrium with all the gang ( Mickey Minnie, Pluto etc)!
In our cabins we found Christmas cherry cake and one day we had sugar cookies. But the best thing was sharing Christmas with a whole bunch of people you've never met before and becoming friends, if only with smiles.
Next time and there is going to be a next time, I wouldn't bring as many decorations for the cabin as we had too many, but other than that, I wouldn't change a thing!

We sailed Christmas 2000 also and have booked again for this
year. The ship is all decked out in Christmas decorations and
it is great. The tree lighting is a must to see, get there early for
a good view and the rail above the tree is a good place to be
for that event. And if you do WDW before or after the cruise
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is really nice aswell.
Enjoy, Bonnie

Definitely go on the Disney cruise at Christmas. We had the best time this past Christmas on the Magic.Looking forward to doing it again..maybe Christmas 2003???
The ship is so gorgeously decorated. There's so much to do..and the best part?Sitting on Dawn Beach Christmas Day in the warmth and the sun!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHH....

We are booked on the Magic for the Dec 21st Cruise and we have two sons 11, 15 and wanted to know what it was like on the Magic during Christmas Week. We have been on two Disney Cruises both in July once on the Wonder and once on the Magic. We have never been away from Home for Christmas and the kids are worried it won't seem like Christmas waking up on Christmas Morning on the Magic. What do they do special for Christmas? What kinds of meals do that have that day. Do most people decorate their stateroom? Thanks for the input.
