Christmas Cruise 2005!!!

Nan--you guys should be headed out the door right now!
Well, I pondered my situation, and realized that the all-consuming nature of the program as it is now is not for me. My scrapbook store was like that and I was so relieved when we closed it.
I realized that I was using the motto "Good enough" with much of my coursework, out of shear survival.
THEN Marcus wistfully commented how much he wished I could see his morning baseball games...that pretty much locked the deal. What if he decides after next summer to not to play baseball anymore? I would have missed what is so important to him right now. NOT gonna do it.
I also realized that other than a few disappointed people (myself included), life will otherwise be normal if I withdraw.
SO I am a free woman, and relieved (hmmmmm...sounds familiar)
Well, off to enjoy my summer and my children!
Wish I was going to Disneyland!! :earboy2:
Bye! :wave2:

sign of a true friend is when the captions on the pictures are *perfect*

Tigg, that was so nice to have you load up our pics.

Okay, now you can all see us, typical Silicon Valley family...Akkkk, I forgot to send you a picture of our pets!!!! That will have to wait until we get home from DISNEYLAND!!!!!

My girl friend has the kids for another 30 minutes, bbl I'm headed in to pack...

Nan
;) You named them...I just rewrote their titles :confused3

I'm glad you approve :teeth:

Tig OMG they are so cute! And now they're young ladies. I can't wait to mee them. And I love your little doggie, too. I wish we could have a dog, but we have too many reasons against it.

Lovely dresses, too. Spaghetti straps scare me. What do you use for support? I'd love to be able to wear spaghetti straps. Are you going to wear these dresses for dinner?

Nan! Your little prince and princess are dolls! A lovely family! And I'm so happy to be able to have a face to your name. Tell me, what does your DH think about your Dis habit? Mine thinks we're all  , but he sees how mush fun it is, too. What would I do without my Christmas Cruise gang????
Yes they are beautiful young ladies now princess: princess:

Those are the pics I keep closest to my heart. I drive my family nuts with that too

I have a room, just for my photographs :3dglasses

My kids waited a looooooong time for that dog ;)

We told them for many years that we didn't have a proper home for a dog. We moved into our house in August and they had their dog by Christmas. Our friend is a breeder and that litter was timed perfectly! :cloud9:

I can wear spaghetti straps because is wear supportive camisols

I have a brown one for the paisley dress. . . and yes, these are for a "regular dinner" night. I hoping to get two more sun dresses...we have mexican/indians selling dresses at our local flea market that I've had my eye on...

TMI alert....

becuse of my allergy to latex I'm not supposed to wear things containing elastic or spandex. I buy camis at the Gap and Victorias that are alomost 100% cotton. I don't do brassiers well.

Alert Over ...

:dancer:

I get more and more excited every day :boat:

I told Brittany of our plans to do Fright Fest and she is def up for it!

Did you ask the boys about going?

I suppose Mel is like my DH and will probably opt out of this field trip :confused3

Wonderful idea! And when you get back home, Paul will be a :earboy2: ! Now to hook Kris in! :genie: Oh genie of the lamp, grant this one wish and we'll set you free...that our pal Kristin become a full-fledged, official, fanatical, Disney-is-really-the-happiest-place-on-earth, WDW lover as the rest of us are.

Kristin

Good for you!

As you said, this will be such a strain on you and the family during a time that is supposed to be a vacation spent with them...

Education will always be there...Family and your own well being needs to be put first sometimes.

Deck 8-got it!

Let me know if you find out what cabin(s)~

Do you want my email address?

I resized and posted Nan's pictures for her,I can do yours as well-let me know :teeth:

I added the photos that have been posted...

To our "who's cruising" link in my sig...

I picked one showing each person that I have a picture of, the link shows the thumbnails of the pics...

If you click on the photos the full size will come up for you...

Kris, I'm happy that you're happy with your decision. As Tig said, education will always be there. My well-meaning dad always pushed us so hard to go on and on with our educations; he still does. Yuo really do have plenty of time later on in life, if you so choose. Enjoy your summer to the max!!!!!!!!

Tig, I'm going over to check out your link! :3dglasses

I am giddy w/ all my free time!! :goodvibes
It is bittersweet, but the stress level alone is SOOOOOOOOOO much better.
And I got to see such a wonderful game this morning! Sometimes 10 year olds playing baseball can get a bit boring....lots of walks, errors...
BUT we were behind 10-2 after 2 innings, 10-6 by end of the fourth, and put on their rally caps last inning (inside out caps! :rotfl: )and literally cheered themselves to a tie. Actually we might have won, we aren't sure. We have a 10 batter rule; he was out, but only 2nd out & runner on third got to home. So not sure if run counts--is game over w/ 10th batter or when ball is dead? And although we had a few hits, they walked us a lot that last inning. But those boys cheered every guy in as he crossed home--they met each one at the plate and cheered them all the way back to the dugout. The spirit was amazing! So I reminded the boys this was TRULY one of those "it doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you play the game"! And to think I would have missed that...
You know, they say God sends messages..if you are paying attention...
I'M PAYING ATTENTION! :flower: I KNOW I made the right decision!
So now...a nap maybe...kids are out in the pool (it's been leaking, I may need to spring for another...) But it is HOT HOT HOT, and 2 hours in the sun this AM is enough for awhile...But then again...this IS what I had in mind! :cloud9:
Well...I think you can read the change in my disposition! I know I do!
Tig--email addy would be fine! I do have pics on the hard drive, but truthfully could use a tutorial on how to send them! I still have people from our cruise waiting for me to send them some!
Of to enjoy my summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sunny:
Kristin

Kristin::cloud9: Sooo awesome!!!

I hope your whole summer is like the morning you had today :wizard:

and no, that should be grim's current home, we have yet to see a photo of the new place being built.

Have they started yet Grim?

Kristin - You mean the pic in my signature? No, that's my vacation home :teeth:

They haven't started on mine yet. They have started on the one right next door though, so any day now!

OK, I'm finally starting to get excited about the cruise. I haven't let myself get too excited all this time because I wasn't sure if we'd really get to go or not. I'm pretty sure we're going now, so WHEEEEEEEEE!! :moped:

Started looking at rates for the Hyatt MCO - $175 is the cheapest I can find. Anyone do any better, and if so how? Been looking at Hotwire, but it doesn't seem to come up.

As for after the cruise, I just made reservations for 12/31 - 1/3 at Old Key West. We only have 52 DVC points left (and those are 2006 points :rolleyes1 ), and those 3 nights were exactly 52 points, so I figure it's a sign :teeth:

I absolutely agree!!!

I believe in Karma ;)

Grim, we'll be at the MCO Hyatt, too. I've been trying to fihure out how Hotwire works. I posted a few questions with my details on the regular cruise board, so we'll see if anyone can help.

Grim: I checked again today,

Hotwire doesn't list specific hotels, just specific areas...sorry :confused3

I check a few more of my sources and it seems they all have $175 per night.

 Happy Thursday Christmas Cruisers

One more day and another week is done...only 26 to go :dancer:

Hi - I hope this meassage gets to all of you because I have never done this before. This is Nan's husband. She asked me to post this message to let you all know that they are at DL having fun as I write this. The limo picked them up on Wed. morning - at 5:00 am. The kids never saw that there were bags packed. When we woke them Wednesay day morning, they were in a bit of a fog but they were excitied to hear that there was a big "cat-dog" car in our driveway (That's what they call limos - I don't know why.) Nan asked them - do want to get in and go fro a ride - they said yes. Once in the limo, she asked, "Where do you think it's going?" Molly replied, "the mall!" So they all decided the limo was taking them to the mall to go shopping at 5:00 am. Nanette said that Wilson actually guessed where they were going right away, but she didn't let on. Then they definately figured it out when they got to the airport. When I hear more about their adventures, I'll post again.

- Paul

You all have been quiet...

What's everyone doing for thier Fourth of July Holiday?!?!?

Lynn......Colette.....??? You must be busy for the summer holiday, we haven't heard from you in a while....How is your holiday going?

Aisling: We have a poss DIS mini-meet at SFGA on Oct 22nd-How's that day for you?
It's a Saturday.

~cj~

NO ONE has posted for 24 hours??!! :earseek: We were on the second page!!
WELL, I need to solve that! Am THOROUGHLY enjoying vacation now! :cool1: Why are some of the easiest decisions the most difficult to make??!!
I haven't made it to Jazzercise yet...but after downloading some photos, nothing like a graphic incentive to get back on that track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so proud of myself--I finally am getting the photos on CDs, etc. to get developed. (Tig--got your email; I'm gonna try to email them to you myself and let you post them here; BUT if I have problems, I'll let you talk me through it).
Started my annual household purge--clean EVERYTHING out top to bottom. Then huge garage sale. As Dan says, the annual "turn $7000 worth of stuff into $700" But it is therapy to me--if my house is orderly, so tends to be my brain. Accountant says it is worth more to donate it all, but I always consider the $ I make mine (hey, I do all the work!), and use it for my travels! (plus I'm thinking and increase in donations from $3000 to $10000 would be like asking for an audit! I would never value the items I donate so high, but the program It's Deductible does it for me--SOOOOOOOO cool!)
Aren't you all glad I'm a free bird now this summer so I can ramble on to you all about EVERYTHING??!! :smooth:
Well, off to be productive!
Have a wonderful Friday!
Kris
