Somehow the lime makes it even smoother...
Shoes..you know, as a bona-fide shoe fanatic, I actually brought too many last time--those workout tennies never got worn!!!!! :rotfl: :confused3
Hmmmm...walking tennies, pool flip flops(black w/ beads), leather black flip flops, black leather slides, water shoes, 2 pair heels...maybe 3...I have so little opportunity to wear heels, I actually LIKE to when I dress up! I think that's it. I did wash lingerie, and may even bring fewer and just wash daily.
Won't cabin boy love that!
Oh, cabin boy.... (though there was only one cute CM on Princess--he ran the pool games--oooh, la, la... :lovestruc ) I adore my DH--who is a fine man himself--but I can always appreciate an attractive man!
Funny story...DH out w/ 2 gal teacher friends FACing DH 42, Molly 40 (but looks younger--she got carded when out w/ us girls a year ago--UNFAIR), and Liz, mid 40s, but has short grey hair...Old guy walks up to Liz...says she looks like a "hearty" woman (she is average--maybe 10-12), would she like any of his chicken wings, he is full...is she married...not to offend, but since she is sitting w/ her SON and DAUGHTER-IN-LAW!!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2:
DH nearly died telling me! To his credit, he has a receding hairline (has since college), but was wearing a baseball hat, and has a goatee. Sad thing, his team at school loves nothing more than to use incidents like this as fuel to the ****-flipping fire! Should be fun for years to come!
Rats, cell phone is ringing upstairs...let it ring!
Well, I'm on a roll now...blah, blah, blah!
ONLY 8 days of school--only one Monday and one Friday left!
Be back! :wave2:
Kristin

Just got 30% less w/ another company...put away for cruise!
DH also just lowered cholesteral from 235-190! Woo hoo! Must be the fish oil pills and the 2 beers/day (seriously!), as we barely changed diet (we eat pretty well already..except that weekly trip for wings!), although he said he gave up french fries--didn't even know he ate fries! And it is maddening that the man doesn't weigh much more than when he graduated from college! POOEY! BUT who had the kids around here, huh?
Well, since I am now officially talking to no one, this has become pathetic!
Guess I'll move on!
Talk to ya' all later!
Kristin
Aisling--we do have the family stateroom which is bigger, but we are also adding 3 bodies & stuff--I'm guessing we had more room to move in our outside on Princess! (sweet upgrade from our dirt cheap interior!) Funny, don't seem to be seeing any cruises at the $549 price we paid! I love a good deal!

Shoulda reread...
Jist was old guy thought DH42 & Molly40 were son/DIL of Liz, mid 40s.
Guess you had to be there...
SHeesh!
Kristin
Just pumping those message #s up! (slow snails pace!)

I'm back, you two were busy....

I gotta go back now and see what you all have said

;)

Tig, I'm surprised your DD hasn't bumped you yet for her computer time!

I'm going to sign off now. I'm sleepy now, that cooler kicking in. First it make me giggly, and then it puts me nite nite!

Have a great weekend!

DD is leaving for the weekend in the AM...

Girl scout trip to the beach for camping. She hasn't packed a thing so she doesn't need the computer ;)

She has a really bad case of last-minute-itis, really.

I'm gonna go soon too, you have a great weekend too my friend :teeth:

~TTFN~

Aisling:

The only thing I'll add tonight, cause I know you've gone to bed...is that your first cruise corona is on me my friend...Lime included ;)

Goodnight Christmas Cruisers...one more week gone and closer to our magical voyage to be...

Sorry I abruptly left...Jack wanted me to finish watching Snow Dogs w/ him-he assured me it was a grown up movie, too! :goodvibes
Then that beer made me sleepy, too! How is it if I am out one just gets me revved up for more, but one at home and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ??!!
Hot and windy here...so maybe a good day to fiddle on the computer and scrapbook! A zillion loads of laundry, too, easy to do while scrapbooking.
Bless DH--he asked if we needed to wash sheets, and he stripped all those beds! Personally I would have done the regular laundry today (large enough piles!) and sheets tomorrow, but I'm not complaining! He helped Jack pick up his room, swept kitchen floor, cleaned fish's bowl, and trimmed Jack's buzz cut!
I don't know if I feel like a woman of luxury or guilty! I'm still waiting for the caffeine to kick in!
Speaking of ...more coffee!
Bye!
Kristin

Bless DH--he asked if we needed to wash sheets, and he stripped all those beds!
Kristin, you're a lucky girl...not all DHs are helpful like that! I hope you had a laid-back day.
You said your little boy Jack watched Snow Dogs last night; that movie is so funny! I saw it with DS and he was embarrassed because I was laughing so much in the theater. It was such a silly movie, and I enjoyed it so much. So your mentioning it brought back good memories for me. :goodvibes

I ordered a lime green sweater from Chadwicks with matching shoes, and they came today! I want to save it for the cruise. I LOVE bell sleeves.

Here's something else I want to buy, but I'll wait for a code to bring the price down from $30.
2156_07886_dt.jpg

The clothes aren't the most fantastic quality, but still good.
Before I had kids, I never thought I'd shop from something like Chadwick's, always buying my clothes from boutiques here in the city, and for a while I only bought my kid's clothes from specialty children's boutiques. But then I began running out of $$$$!! Now, my favorite store is Macy's but only on sale days. And Target for the cool nic nacky things they have, and IKEA for their cool lamps! And Ebay, but I'm starting to get tired of Ebay. I think it was just a phase for me to go through. :flower:

Now I'm going to get something to eat. I was so busy today, I hardly ate anything, which was a good thing! :Pinkbounc

I have been very blessed to have met a man that has always felt that we are a team--in parenting, keeping house, decision making, respect. We have a close group of friends whose hubbies thought for a long time that Friday eve was their God-given right to go out, as late as they wanted. They would not answer cell phones, would not call home to check in--and one still tends to have this opinion! Dan was never like that. I always said it was about simple respect. But he realizes that by calling to check in, doing his share around the house, etc., that he can then pretty much do what he wants otherwise (i.e. GOLF) and I will only fuss if he has golfed too many days out of a week! The other guys could never figure out why their wifes would not "let " them golf on the weekends..... :smooth:
I LOVE that top/shoes--lime green is SO my color, too!
I know what you mean about shopping..."Target" (say it w/ a French accent and it sounds like a boutique!) is the BEST store...and I WISH we had Ikea--I have to go every time we are in Pittsburgh. I do have a fettish for Talbots--their clothes just fit so well. I bought another pair of black capri pants there Thursday...saw them for half the price at Old Navy....tried on 3 different styles there. Comfy, fit fine, but one pair looked wierd from front, one from back and one from side!!!! So I pay....
We have an upscale dept. store, Von Maur (a step above Dillards), that marks down EVERY week. I try to hit them every week or two on Thursdays...the day they do second markdowns! So I strive to pay 75% off!!
I love KC Parker and Heartstrings for Hailey...so I always scope the racks for those. In fact, found some size 10 at 75% off and they will check other stores for 7/8--even at that discount! Plus they have a NO interest, no credit limit credit card (OK, you do have to pay 1/5 balance each month so you can't get too out of control!) But I do shop there for Dan, the kids & gifts A LOT (not so much luck w/ me except accessories--I'm the Talbots girl, almost always their terrific sales, too). Why can't other stores realize that I would spend a LOT more $ at their store if they would give me an interest free card??!! (plus they do free alterations and shipping! GREAT store!)
WOW! This board really brings out the chit chat in me!
Enjoy that gorgeous top/shoes!!! I may need to borrow them!
Still trying to plug away so I can get smaller clothes for the cruise!!!! SLOW going on the weight loss. But it is a process, right? ::yes:: :crazy2:
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Kristin

 Hi All!

My DH has it lucky like yours Kristin...a friend of Dhs and my BIL told me so...they wish all the wives could be as "flexible" as I am. When DH wants to go out with the buds, I figure if all he wants is Friday night with the guys, he can have it :)

How many husbands do you know that make a full course dinner after work every night?!? Mine does, he's the best! I handle all the housework, except for the yard, and DH handles the maintentence (cars and house) the cooking. DH and his dad split the yardwork.

Brittany found a dress Friday night that she wanted for the cruise, but didn't have the cash to buy it. So we surprised her...she left saturday with her girl scout troop, after I dropped her off I went to the mall and put it on hold. I told DH about it when I got home and he gave me the cash and sent me back to the mall to pick it up for her...she was sooooo happy when she got home today and saw it in her room. :teeth:

It's a black, spaghetti strapped, knee length dress with pink polka dots, pink ribbon on a high waist and a little "mesh" (?) faux slip at the bottom. It's so cute, I told her she has to bring it for the cruise. I also told her she could dress up every night for dinner if she'd like. So far we have her formal dress and one regular dinner dress for her. We need a semi-formal still. I was looking again this weekend for dresses for me-one of these days I'll actually try something on

Aisling: No more ebay?

I shop at (insert french accent here) Target for the house and Kohl's and JCPenney for clothing-clearance racks of course ;)

My kids got me a gift card for the Gap for mother's day, so I went there for jeans. My $40 couldn't buy one pair in that store!!! Last year I got the $54 jeans for $19.99 in NC-I'll be going back there this summer for sure. The cami's were on sale so I got four new colors for $10 each.

DH and I watched the sunset at the river last night, and yes, I took pictures :teeth: I post pics from work, so I'll share some with you all tomorrow if you like. We also watched The Incredibles, cool movie!! Gotta add that one to our collection. :)

My turn to babble I guess...;)

Tig--you and are are two peas in a pod! (regarding both hubby's and shopping!)
Gorgeous weather here! :sunny: Hung out outside w/ the neighbors after DDs volleyball game--she has become quite a server after only 6 weeks! Hopefully she got her father's athletic abilities! (She also was the only girl who actually listened to the coach!) Anywho...got sunburnt! Cripes, we didn't go out until after 3:15!! Guess I better get back into the sunscreen habit! Luckily the kids were spending most of their time in the shade! Only mom was not so smart!
Was planning on working on a base for the cruise, but had planned to be a bit smarter about it!
Well...only 8 days of school left! HOORAY!
Goodnight! :wave2:
Kristin

:cool1: I've missed all the good chat...

My laptop was on the fritz (working on DH's now) & so engrossed at DD school for Teacher App week. I had the great idea of having a bubble parade of honor for our teachers. I (with help from DD, DS & DH) made 450 tubes of bubbles for the kids and DH made a CD of 10 great kid songs for the staff of 22 teachers. I was in the middle of the whole thing and had an out of body experience, the kids had that panic that they wouldn't get a bubble jar and so they all excited and noisy and then peace came as they all got bubbles and starting blowing them for the parade of teachers who marched in to Earth Wind and Fire "SuperStar" and the whole thing just gelled. It was really fun. The kids K-6th grade loved the bubbles the teachers loved the parade and gave us a wave (or 3) of thanks.

So, after all that I came home and bought that rolling cart!!!! I spied it the day before during the pin sale and had to have it. I just read all your notes on it and was :rotfl: DH looked at me like I was from outerspace.

Ok, do you think that perhaps we have the same DH that is cloned times three ???? Mine also is from the land of the wonderful husbands. My family has actually named him Pope Paul. Part of it for putting up with my sh#% and the other part for being such a great guy. He cooks, and does laundry. We do have a house cleaner and a gardner so I have to cut him slack on that end. He does get up every morning (while I snooze) and takes DD to school, and DS 2 days a week.

I hope that our DH's can enjoy each other as much as we enjoy each other.

I have something to send to you Tigg...how do I get reach you in email land??? Duh...not the techie here :confused3 send me an email and I'll reply I'm good at that.

We had a great weekend, DS T-ball game Sat morning, Stanford vs Arizonia baseball game at Stanford Sat afternoon (go stanford), Engagement party for friends Sat night, went to the beach today, in Half Moon Bay, it was great. Took the old dog and she was very happy :goodvibes also took DD best friend, then to top our nite dinner with best pals and learned that their #2 baby is due in Jan '06. Their 1st turns 1 6/18. Nice story, He & DH was friend from college,She & I roommates while she was working towards getting her teachers creditials....we introduced them and many years later they marry...DD was flower girl, DS is their Godson. Ahhhh...so sweet. She was then DD 1st grade teacher and got prego with first that year!!! So nice to have such close friends like that. I hope we get home in time to see new baby born.

I talk alot too huh?

I have to hand back his laptop. I hope to reach you tomorrow to join in the chat!!!

 Nite Nite all,

Nan

p.s. when we accomplish a task as we like to say in our family "the chicken is in the cupboard" Dland tickets came in the mail this weekend....We're going to Disneyland    I of course have my annual pass, but I had to buy one for DD, DS & Sis. They are soo cute, submarine ride, alice in wonderland and railroad pics. Too fun!!!

Nan, sounds like you had a terrific weekend!
It is funny how alike our (plus Tig's) DHs sound...because truly, there do not seem to be many around like them! I always enjoy our friends & hubbies, but I could never be married to them!
Funny you mention that he has to put up w/ my sh**--I have often said the same! I had several home businesses then the scrapbook store(That was the greatest test of a marriage! We are both MUCH happier people now that it is closed!), now my Master's...somehow work & family is never enough for me! Then when I am overscheduled, I long for just work & family....go figure!
Well, am at work, so better do so!
Have a wonderful day everyone....speaking of, WHERE is everyone besides us 4 girls??!!
Kristin

pardon my grammar. I just reread my post...oops. it's too hard writing on with your laptop on your knees in the middle of Desperate Housewives. So did anyone else see it? I was not suprised that the heart attack husband died, seemed to fit in with the evil plot line of keeping those darn women in bad places.

Monday morning, should be working, not wanting to....arrggghhh should then clean my house really don't want to do that :rotfl: I think I'll grab a few minutes of "The View" nothing like a few women around a table drinking coffee to get me motivated.

Oh yeah, I loved that outfit Aisling. Those sleeves are great.... Maybe if I drop 30 pounds.... :rotfl2:

My diet starts 6/18/05...sounds like a good date right???? Six months from the leave date of our trip. Wrong have to move it to 6/27/05, the return date from DLand...can't diet on vacation that just is wrong....

No more talk of limes in beers I was drooling over that one. :drinking1

see ya later,

:wave2:

Nan

 Hello All! Happy Monday!

Here are a few pics from our sunset saturday night :teeth:

I’ve resorted to writing my replies on a word document…

This way if the DIS goes down, I still have everything I write

Aaaaaaaaaaaanyway…

Kristin: I love volleyball. Fancy a game on castaway cay?

No sunscreen at 3pm?!?! Silly girl, that’s the hottest time of the day ;)

If I wanted to do a “base,” is it simply a collage glued to matte board or more complicated than that? This is where the techie becomes the student :confused3:

You’re no different than the rest of us…happy when we’re busy and happy when at last we are not….it’s all part of that great balancing act we call life.

Nan: Your DHs will not get to meet mine, Mom’s just taking us girls this trip…he’s not the sociable type anyway, by the time he got comfortable with everyone we’d all be home ;)

Great job with the teacher appreciation!!! Sounds like everything came along very well!

I can picture us all boarding-three bright red Disney coolers in tow!!!!!! This is gonna be so much fun…can ya feel it!?!?!

Desperate Housewives!!! Absolutely!!! One of the few shows I watch…I only caught the last 30 minutes but that was enough to keep up with the show…now we wait…for 3 months…for the next show

Your Disneyland tix have rides on them??? I’m used to WDW and having characters. Sounds cool-I’m really leaning towards hitting Cali before this party ends…more and more each day…we’ll see, maybe next year…late next year.

Soooo, did you get any work done today? I did a little :ssst:

I sent you the email as requested…

Aisling: I really do like your taste in clothes…

I am a very plain Jane when it comes to buying clothes for myself---usually just shirts and jeans…but I’m trying to change that…I started with shirts, when I look at them now I look for something different..cut a little different, a color that’s a little different, I figure it’s a start.

I’m headed home now…

~TTFN my Christmas Cruising Friends~

 Hi Mom!!!!!!

There's 5 of us regular girls, right?--Tig, Aisling, Jill, Nan & Me. The boys seem less regular...or probably not as typically chatty as women!
Ok...stupid question here...what do all of you do for a living? I am trying to put the puzzles together of all of you...I know where you live (not like a stalker :earseek: ...more like in the vicinity of! :earboy2: ), general idea of kids, a few interests (mostly Disney, but scrapbooking, skating and cycles :moped: seem to be others)
Ya'll prob'ly can't forget I'm a teacher :teacher: since I keep mentioning how many days are left!
Just did our JUNE calender for the fridge! YIKES! Weekends are the calm time!
Marcus has ball every morning, plus Mon & Weds nights; Hailey has various activities in the AM--outdoor rec, Bible School, cheer camp :cheer2: --plus practice Mon. & ball game Tues. I teach one week, and have class 2 weeks, plus frantically trying to fit in workouts. Poor DH--he gets to run kids all over, but he does have golf league on Thurs. Even worse, Jack simply has daycare (she does preschool each morning), and just hauled to everyone's games!
DH & I have decided NO to Vegas this summer, but I do get to keep my scrapbooking trip to Provo :cool1: if he gets a golf trip. Probably just a short trip to KC w/ the kids--heck, a hotel stay w/ a pool is vacation to them if we do nothing else! But we figured w/ the cruise in Dec. and my 40th in March (DH is planning a trip :goodvibes ), we better be good! But $100 rooms at the Venetian are hard to pass up! Unfortunately, airfare seems to be $350 no matter where or when you go! :scared1:
Well, when I win that $200million powerball Weds., I can go to Vegas anytime I want, and stay at the Venetian any time I want!!!!!!! Oh, and first round is on me if I do!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drinking1
Better go get children out to play!
Kristin

 Hi Kristin!

I'm in on that powerball!!!!!!!

If I win, it's my treat ;) okay?
