"pack it in" just means to stop what theyre doing.its something i use a lot.is there an american expression so i can fool the kids with it and stop sounding like a parrot :goodvibes the move is going well now just a few last touches then were in :cool1: cant wait i can get back to dreaming bout the cruise like i should be. :sunny:

working on your packing list already!
Actually, I was very pleased w/ my packing from the last cruise, I wore about everything once--shorts or capris for day, a different dress each night--hey, we are teachers and NEVER get the opportunity to dress up! Plus I sweat, so wearing clothes twice isn't an option (or some of a meal will end up on my chest--it's a weird family thing I inherited!)
I just realized that I really shouldn't lose weight because my perfect packing list will need to be totally redone!!!!! Of course the incentive of new clothes for the cruise is nice...and end of summer sales...hmmmmm.
Have a great day everyone!
Kristin :sunny:

Just made my LAST payment for our cruise!!! No credit cards
just plain old cash!!! Now to start saving for everything else!! :earsgirl: :smooth: :bounce:

:cool1: I am enjoying everyone's little steps forward... :cool1:

Yay Franco!!

All cash! You're my kinda guy! I don't do credit either...

I was hoping to prepay alot of our expenses...have you looked into on board credits for things like daily shipboard expenses? I'm pretty sure I can prepay our excursions.

Aladdin's Clone: One of my girls, Stefanie (she w/b 17 by then) is really into the performing arts. She's done acting classes and school plays and lust loves that type of stuff. Have you seen my itinerary? (linked below)

On December 26th, I was hoping to sign Stef up for a program called Stage Works. It's from the "Navigators" if you want to read up on it. It's behind the scenes access to the WDW Theatre-you should check it out~

Monty Python!?! Good Choice!

Colkath: That's cute, kinda like every Mom turning her head when one kid says "Mom." Pack it in to me simply would mean it's time to leave.
:teeth: :drinking1 :boat:  :jumping1:
Cheers! Here's to Cruise Dreamin!

KKB:I'm very hard on clothes and shoes~to the point where I have to buy new just about every season  That's why I looove my Clearance Sales!

Aisling:I don't fly much, but if it's taught me anything, it's taught me to pack lite :earboy2: Something I might where to dinner one night will probably be worn on an excursion day...
(In my best Jackie Mason:) Ya know what I mean? :upsidedow

:3dglasses Hair issues, I think I see an onboard hair appointment in our future... :3dglasses

Hey guys I will be on the same cruise!!! (i think i said this already) I will be in cabin 2000.....im me or e mail me @ ultimateheat (aol.com)

Hey I'm Tori I will be in room 2000 (we got the last vacation club room!) I am sure gonna miss the veranda! I will be 14 by this Christmas....maybe i will find someone i can meet up with on the cruise!? This will be my third cruise! It's amazing! and it never gets old!

She's done acting classes and school plays and lust loves that type of stuff.

:rotfl: Tiggie!

But seriously, thanks for posting the link to your itinerary. I'm reading it again to get ideas. Stage Works sounds like something Aladdin's Clone would be into. I have to see the age limit, because Wick (it's SO wierd calling them by their Dis names LOL!) was also into acting in H.S.

Hair issues, I think I see an onboard hair appointment in our future...

Ya think! :cutie: :cutie:

Kristin,
My suitcase if full of cruise clothes that don't fit me, so if I don't shed some of my voluptuousness by then, I'll be travelling with an empty suitcase after I dump all the size 8s out!
But I'll do it!

colkath,
Good luck with the move. Do you live in the city or a countryside-type area? I've been to London once, if you consider a flight stopover. Saw nothing but Heathrow Airport, but tickled to actually be in England for 3 hours!

Franco, don't forget to save for tips. It runs over $300 to give the recommended tip for the week.

3x, we miss you. Hope everything is well. :wave2:

Grim, you out there?? pirate: Jill? :flower:

And Tori, welcome to this excited gang of Christmas Cruisers! :cheer2:

A radio station in Omaha (104.5) plays a montage on Fridays about 8AM. The kids love it, and we all come in on Fridays in a good mood!! :rotfl:
tigger--love to read itinerary and dream....but the word is that Hercules won't be around then--not much longer, it seems. :wave2:
Had that pecan roll(only one!)--figure the protein was a better choice! :rotfl2:
Have a great day!
Krstin

:sunny: :cool1: Happy Friday!!! :cool1: :sunny:

 Hi Tori! and Welcome! :flower3:
If you want to gather with us on the ship, keep this in mind...
Some of us are meeting at the Terminal, stay on this thread and we'll organize our meeting as the cruise gets a little closer. This way you and our young people can get to know each other a little before we set sail. Tell your parents beforehand please, so we don't scare them away because we already know you ! :rotfl2:

This is your third cruise?!?!? Your third Disney or your third cruise?

Maybe we could use you as our teen tour guide? :teacher:

 Hi Aisling! Here's a link to the navigator I found Stage Works on...it doesn't seem to have an age limit. I think this is something we have to sign up for as soon as we board-I'm also assuming we will have to go to preludes to sign up for this.
Look at page 3, Monday...

I see an onboard hair appointment in our future...
Yes I do!
DH always encourages me to give myself a little pampering - if I deserve it, so do you my friend! (We can make an appointment together when we get onboard, okay?)

You have to get into all these beautiful clothes come Christmas...
How am I ever to recognize you if you can't wear your clothes!!!!

in my best Rob Schneider...
You can do it!

Do you have a "Curves" near you? My friends who go there swear by it! It's worth a look-see. ::yes::

KKB:I thought Hercules was a new show!
Oh well, whatever they have, I'm sure it'll be good ::MickeyMo

I have a system with my snacks;
Have fruit instead of a candy bar,
Have Oatmeal instead of cake,
Have Tea instead of soda,
Keep it low on bread, butter and pasta intake.

It's all about willpower :crazy: and idle time;
You don't have to use your willpower if you have no idle time ;)
Keep busy when you think of snacking,
Some people will eat because they are bored,
make sure you are truly hungry before indulging~

And that's my two cents for the day :upsidedow

i live in plymouth which is in the southwest its a city in the middle of a very country type area. not unusual to see tractors and herds of sheep travelling on the smaller roads, and are the roads small compared to yours!! if you meet a car coming the other way one of you has to back up to a wider part of the road  we also have the infamous cream teas!there are some lovely farms to visit with the kids though we went to one laast week and its a good time to go as all the baby chick and lambs are newborn.the boys also got to walk a baby goat on a leash which they loved.as from monday im back on my diet :sad2: i wanna lose twenty pounds (or as close as i can)what is everybody doing to lose the weight?any tips?

colkath--my mother has been to London, as has a dear friend of mine. They say I would LOVE it--DH has said as long as we go during the British Open (golf), I can drag him anywhere I want! :teeth:
Boy, we all seem to need that weight removed! Just read that is has less to do w/ willpower, and really about having a plan (this really does help me if I know EXACTLY what we are having for dinner when I get home...and schedule my workouts like any other appointment) and discipline (which is the same as willpower in my book...of which I have little!)
I was whining to DH that I am working out, eating the right things/amounts and this body thinks this is the size it was meant to be...then I tried on my current "skinny" jeans last night and got them buttoned! WOO HOO! So even if the scale isn't saying so, it is working. (muscle weighs more than fat, right??!!).
But after wrapping up a couple of projects this weekend (scrapbook for NE Bankes Assn. and most of the rest of my math class work), I intend to plan meals carefully, and kick up the workouts, lifting weights, doing tae-bo tapes or running(haven't done that in YEARS!) on the days I can't seem to get to Jazzercise. If this stupid body needs me to kick it up a notch, guess I better--I wanna buy a new wardrobe! 20 lbs. will get my BMI healthy, then we'll see about a few more.
We have 8 months...plenty of time if we get to it now! :cheer2:
I have a little not from "O" magazine on my fridge--"Being SKINNY tastes better than anything in here!" I have to keep remembering that!
Got Jimmy Buffet on the CD player...dreaming of the Caribbean on this dreary day.... :sunny:
Have a great day!
Kristin

then I tried on my current "skinny" jeans last night and got them buttoned! WOO HOO!

Kristin, I'm SO happy for you!! :cheer2: :cool1: :flower: :goodvibes :sunny: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :jumping1: :worship: :dancer: :flower1: :rockband: :daisy: :thewave: :jumping2: :jumping3: Keep it up, girl!

colkath, I'm just following a low-carb plan, which is really making me feel healthier. I'm being very strict about no cakes, cookies, etc. at all. After I lose the weight, I'll ease them back intyo my eating in a moderate way, like having one donut instead of two or three. But on the cruise, I'm not putting any restrictions on my eating. Hopefully, I'll be at my goal, so I won't care if I gain a couple of pounds. I'm not eating pasta, potatoes, rice, or bread. I do eat oatmeal, so I'm getting my carb requirement from that, and from veggies. I'm basically eating meats and vegetables, which I love anyway. This morning, I had a banana and bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.
For lunch, I had a huge green salad with grilled chicken.
And soon I'm going to eat sauteed cabbage, mushrooms, onions, and broccoli sprinkled with ground beef.
It's amazing that I have no snacking urges, and I'm not hungry between meals. The first week was horrid, though. I was craving and starving, but now my body has adjusted. We'll see what happens.

(We can make an appointment together when we get onboard, okay?)
Tig, let's do! Anyone else want to join us pampered princesses???

Hi all:

I spent the better part of my night snooping around and getting to know you, so now it's my turn to tell you all about me (& my family)

:wave2: Hi

I'm Nanette, a.k.a. Nan to my family & friends (you all make that list by being Disney fantics like me) 41, DH, Paul 41, DD, Molly 8, DS Wilson 5. First time cruisers. We live in San Jose, CA. We are DL annual passholders, so make at least 2 trips a year. Next one will be in June when school lets out.

We head out for our "once in a lifetime" trip (I figured once we're on the boat Paul & I can squabble over my hidden plans to see the Western side during the summer months) on 12/18-12/24 WDW AK then to the Boat 12/24-12/31 then back to AK for 12/31-1/2/06 (man that seems like next year)

Since I'm new to this please be patient. I ask lots of questions and love the details. (I'm a bean counter in my other life) Actually I tell the kids that mommy works so that we can go to Disneyland & of course now the cruise.

In the spirit of asking questions how do I add a counter to my signature?

Can't wait to share in the fun. Talk with you soon,

Nan

Happy to hear from new blood! One of these nice ladies in
our group will tell you how to get a countdown going. Its myself, DW and two
stepsons 14&11 going on our first cruise also!! :earsgirl: :smooth: :bounce:

We are very similar in age and children's ages--me 39, DH 42, DS 9, DD 6, DS 4. I got a ticker at tickerfactory.com yesterday, but have yet to figure out how to get it here!!!
Aisling--sounds YUMMY to me. DH and I did Atkins last year for a whole week. Lost 5 lbs. But lost 5 lbs. first week of WW, too....so....
But the Atkins thing did make us far more aware of our carbs. I continue to try to focus on all the good for me things--lean protein, fruits, veggies, whole grains (kids prefer whole wheat pasta!) and low-fat dairy. Trying to add soy--use soy milk in baking and cooking. (could never drink the stuff, though! or even put on cereal!)
3 beers and nibbling on nachos and fried veggies(see how I focus on those good for me foods....! I have NO willpower when out for the eve) Fri eve must have bloated me--skinny jeans that night, could barely button regular capris last night. Go figure. But Uncle Kenny next weekend--going to go nuts this week to wear those jeans, plus a loss will give me incentive to stay smart!
ALMOST finished scrapbook...need to do that plus head to Starbucks for peace and quiet to finish math assignments (plus a skim latte--yummy good for me treat!)
Have a great Sunday--gorgeous day here, near 80, no rain :Pinkbounc

Hi Nan!

I'm very happy to "meet" you :flower:
I also went to tickerfactory.com for my countdown clock. There isn't too much of a selection, but I haven't found anything better yet.
I hope you read through this whole thread, because there's so much useful information, and the group here is so friendly. :grouphug: The regular cruise boards also have a tremendous wealth of information. If it weren't for these boards, I wouldn't have a clue about all I need/want to know about DCL. And you say you like details? Then this is the right place for you!! I hope you post often!

3 beers and nibbling on nachos and fried veggies
Kristin, put those beers down right now, young lady! :rotfl: Save them for concert night. Then it'll be worth it!

I've been looking at the cruise menus and checking out all the food/snack options, and there is so much offered. I can't wait to go to Scoops and just walk up and get ice cream any time I want! My dream-come-true. I also want to try the Cove Cafe coffee, although I'm not a coffee drinker, just because it's there!

Today it's a beautiful spring day. I was driving by Coney Island and I was so tempted to stop the car, sit on a bench, and daydream, looking at the ocean. Sometimes I can hardly believe we'll be out on the ocean in 8 short months.

:boat:

If anybody can tell you about the ticker factory tiggerwannabe can. The only thing I've really noticed about them is half the time the arn't there.

We used to have good counters but they don't either use or allow them - whatever.

Anyway, welcome Nan & your family.

Jill :Pinkbounc :moped:

By the way - this weekend I put money down on a Trike (3 wheeled Motorcycle)
My Harley doesn't have enough room for my skates. This way I can do the 2 things I really enjoy & they all involve wheels. :moped: :moped: :moped: :moped:

Hi Guys!

Lets hope for better weather than these poor cruisers!

Welcome Nan! Glad you found us.

Well, we did it - we bought a new house this weekend. We were on a waiting list to buy the new house. The real estate market is crazy out here - developments have all kinds of waiting list and even lotteries for the opportunity to give them all your money, and each and every week they jack up the prices. It's just nuts. We were told it would take 2 months on the list, but it only took 3 weeks :cool1:
It will take about 10 months to build due to labor and material shortages.

Looks like I need another countdown timer...
