Christmas crowds

I'm thinking of booking a trip Dec 20th-27th 2014. I was wondering how would the crowds be? Very crowded or Park Capacity crowded? We've never been at Christmas so I don't know what to expect. Thanks

Since you are essentially the week BEFORE Christmas, I would think the crowds would build as the week progresses.

At that point, it is Park Capacity crowded. Between Christmas and New Years, MK usually closes for at least part of every day due to reaching capacity.

Think shoulder-to-shoulder, difficult to walk from one place to another crowded.

The most crowded week of the year.

About 90% of the Magic Kingdom will look like New Year's Eve in Times Square.

Being a veteran of many trips, we never did the Christmas to New Years trip. Well we just did it 2 months ago and like many others have said Never Again! If you like 20 minute wait for a counter service then 20 minutes more to find a seat, 20-30 minute wait for the ladies restroom and 180 minute wait for the major rides then Go for it. Luckily we knew it was crowded and go often enough we just planned to be there for the experience. Well we experienced it once and that was enough. I did feel sorry for people that save up for years and plan this big trip and maybe their first and only trip and to experience the crowds and waits that one does during that time.

We went from 12/21-1/3 this year.

Major bottle neck between Small world and Haunted Mansion EVERY DAY. Stand still type.

Stand by time hit 5 hours 1 day at Test Track.

Had no issue whatsoever with any ADRs but Counter Service lines were disgusting at normal meal times.

Most popular rides had over a 2 hour wait by noon. Many were 3 hours.

Still had a great time and glad we did it ONCE. From now on we will go for 4 weeks in the summer.

Sea World has the most "Christmassy feel" if that is what you are looking for.

Universal with unlimited express pass (On-Site resort stay) worked best for us for getting rides in...

Make sure you go see Ice at Gaylord Palms!

I can't stand that area. It backs up on sub-5 crowd days.
