Oh my goodness! I've just been to Tesco and they have stacks of the big tins of Celebrations etc. at £5 each.

Sadly, Christmas Eve is the safest time for me to buy chocolate if it is going to still be around on Christmas Day :(

Same here, I cant ever keep tins of chocolate in the house, esp as I'm on Weight Watchers at the moment. The only ones I wouldn't eat are the toffees, they are always left at the end:goodvibes

I absolutely love Christmas, and chocolate tins being on sale was always a big yay from me from being a child as it meant it Christmas was close.

Now I don't even really associate the chocolate tins with Christmas as they sell them sooooo early.

Having Christmas shelves up before December doesn't bother me as I'm always eager to get started but for me it would be nice to see them get Halloween out of the way first like in the good old days :rotfl:

One of the shops in Dublin apparently has their Christmas window displays done. Complete with Christmas trees... I haven't seen it in person yet but I saw pictures on facebook. I reckon their calendar is broken :lmao:

I suppose those tins would be useful if you are into Trick or Treating.

Wow, I am really excited for Christmas this year & have to confess to stalking the disney website recently for any new decorations. I do think august is a tad bit early though for full on Christmas displays & the chocolate...........I made the mistake of buying a tin in sept a few years ago.....it was gone by the October

You were lucky it lasted until October!

I dropped my favourite Disney decoration last year - most of the floor is covered by fitted carpet but it landed on the slate hearth :(

Our local Morrisons put theirs out today. Like someone mentioned, they generally sell it for Halloween now. Its ideal for trick and treaters. :thumbsup2

Shops tend to order 6 months in advance so they start rolling out stock early, although when I worked in retail they waited until the schools went back but I suppose as others have mentioned the tins of sweets can be used for other things, its only the consumer that associates them at Christmas as none of the tins are christmas branded. I still have half a tin of heroes from last christmas sitting in my living room

They'd have it out all year round if they could! I work for one of the supermarkets and the amount of planning for Christmas is crazy. Spare a thought for the poor folk in retail where Christmas is not just a December thing but a whole 6 month deal ha ha! ;)

I know what you mean, I work in retail and have been planning Christmas since May!!:scared:

Noticed today in Morrisons they have them at 2 tins for £8, including Quality Street, Celebrations, Heros, Roses, Haribo Sweets and some other mixed sweets in a tin, looked like retro sweets:thumbsup2

Our local garden centre has their full Christmas displays up already (it takes up about half the store!). I couldn't believe it when I went in the other day, it's never been up so early before.
