anysoldier is another good place.
I've heard to send out Xmas pkgs by Thanksgiving. This is their busiest time of yr for pkgs. Also, go to the USPS and get a flat rate box. They're free, they cost $8.10 to ship no matter the weight. Stuff as much as you can in there. There are two diff. kinds, and one is much easier to fill - it opens on the top, not the end. You'll have to fill out a customs form also, I've never been extremely specific - like I don't list DVDs or anything of value.
You can pretty much send anything. Just no pork. We send my brother wet wipes, drink mixes - like powdered gatorade, power bars (the snickers/candy bar ones taste the best), small toys - frisbee, games, DVDs, Sodoku book, Mad Magazine, sunflower/pumpkin seeds, popcorn balls, any and all snacks. For his Xmas box, I got some snowflake window clings for his wall locker.
Have fun with it!
And Thank you for doing this for someone.
