I'm sure there are many parents out there giving their kids this years trip as a Christmas gift! Well as an added bonus (only 2.49 a call) you can have Mickey or various other characters call the house/cell to leave the kids a greeting!! I know my DD8 will be thrilled to hear from Mickey after she finds out about her trip!!!

:cheer2: 72 days till OKW!!

What a great idea! We have kept this trip a secret and it will be kids present. We plan on doing some type of treasure map with various Disney things hid along the way and let them guess!

72 days to OKW!! :hourglass

Can you pick the time? Is there a deadline when to sign up? I think my DD would love it too, but I would have a hard time figuring out what time to do it.

YOU CAN PICK THE DATE AND TIME OF THE CALL...AND ITS NOT JUST MICKEY YOU CAN PICK PRINCESSES AND VARIOUS OTHER CHARACTERS AS WELL!!

Yes, I did order the customized maps for the first time. They are fantastic. That's what made me think about doing the treasure hunt. DH and I are discussing spending Christmas 2009 at Disney. I think it would be fantastic!

I WISH I could talk my DH into Christmas there!! He says its "too much $$$", part of me agrees..but come on WDW at christmas how wonderful!

Last year they did this but it was free for a Mickey call (no other characters were offered)

:thumbsup2

Yes like OP thread said they did this last year but it was only Mickey Mouse. He called on x-mas day and it was between 9-5pm. You never got to pick the time and it was a recording and then you had to call back and Mickey is saying, " I heard the great news your coming to see us all at WDW". My kids were so excited, they thought we couldn't go because we had just moved into a new house and we told them it was to expensive after the move. My youngest thought we were leaving that minute for WDW.:yay:

Where do you get the personalized maps? What is entailed, what is the cost, etc.??
Thanks in advance!

Does this years say that too? Or do they wish you a Merry Christmas. We aren't going to Disney this year (at least so far we don't have one planned) but I think it would be nice to wish a Merry Christmas. My DD would LOVE it!

they just send a christmas greeting. I know the Mickey one ends with "see ya real soon" but Mickey always says that. I'm not sure what the other characters say at the end. But to answer your question it is just a basic Christmas greeting for the kids! :santa:

We've made it a family tradition and I can't imagine being anywhere else for Christmas. It's wonderful. And, since I ship a box of Santa presents to the resort, my DD even gets to enjoy Christmas morning just as her friends do at home.

Slightly off topic, but...

We've been to WDW during the first two weeks of December twice. It's my favorite time to go. The decorations are up and all the special shows are running. But the crowds are some on the lightest of the year.

If you go at that time, consider getting an annual pass. If you stay at a value resort, you might be able to swing a second trip in warmer weather before your passes expire. Works for us.
