Christmas Breakfast

I make a Breakfast Crock Pot Casserole. It ends up like a quiche, with eggs, hash browns, bacon, green pepper, onion, and lots of cheese. It cooks overnight and is ready in the AM!

For many years, when the kids were little and up at the butt crack of dawn, we had those Pillsbury cinnamon rolls...the ones in the can....and fruit.

Last year, I made a breakfast casserole, and I think the year before that, I made creme brulee french toast (YUM)

This year, I'm not sure, but I do have a cinnamon roll pancake mix in the cupboard that I picked up at Target a few weeks ago. That might be yummy!

I would love to make a nice big Christmas morning breakfast but there is no way that I would be able to eat such a big breakfast on Christmas.

I would still be full for appetizers and dinner! How do you people do it? I'm jealous! :lmao:

Ya gotta get up at like marcy said, the butt crack of dawn 'n then not eat again until late afternoon. :rotfl:

We eat appetizers and such at midnight and "breakfast" is at noon on Christmas. 12 hours to digest! :thumbsup2

Uh... red velvet PANCAKES??? .... ... :faint:

Christmas Eve day, my girls and I make cinnamon rolls from scratch for all of our neighbors and make a tray for us as well..... so, homemade cinnamon buns :) It's my younger DD's absolute favorite and I only make them a handful of times during the year because they're so time consuming with the yeast and all :rotfl:

I LOVE the Pillsbury cinnamon rolls in the can! Funny, because I'm really not a fan of cinnamon rolls. Those are the only ones I'll eat.

We have a big spread! DH always cooks breakfast in our house. He makes fried eggs (or DS makes scrambled eggs), bacon, deer sausage, hashbrowns w/onions, country griddle cakes, cat-head biscuits, & chocolate gravy. Yummy!

Well, DD10 is up and at 'em by at least 6am on Christmas morning (only Christmas morning)

We eat the big breakfast at around 7 or 8 am after she plays with her Santa gifts for a bit and don't eat again until Christmas dinner at 4 or 5pm :thumbsup2

Thank you so very much 'n Merry Christmas to you, Sorsha. I'll think of ya again Christmas mornin'. :goodvibes

You're very welcome, and a Merry Christmas to you and yours as well! :)

We're not big breakfast people. I've been making these for the last few years and now DS16 thinks it's a tradition. They're really easy and make the house smell good.

We have homemade caramel rolls while we open presents and don't really have any traditions for other breakfast food but a couple of these french toast recipes sound REALLY good. I might make some this year. I just have to decide between the egg nog ones and the praline ones now--or heck, maybe both.

This sounds like MY kind of breakfast. Can you pass along the recipe please?:goodvibes

Sure!

Throw one bag of hash browns (I semi-thaw them first) in Crock Pot, add a dozen eggs (whisked), mix those together slightly, add pack of bacon cut up (cooked... I use ready to serve because it's easier, and tastes the same in this application), a diced large green pepper, and a small chopped onion. Mix together. Add pack sharp shredded cheese. Mix again slightly. Cook overnight on high 10-12 hours, or until eggs cooked.

Uncle Remus, can you please send me that recipe? Those sound yummy.

I usually make quiche lorraine and french toast. I do the french toast the night before and get everything ready for the quiche as well so I just have to mix up the egg mixture and pop them both in to the oven while we open gifts.

I got a text while I was at work from my wife requesting that I post this recipe. :lmao: Here ya' go, honey...

What a great thread! We always have...

Sausage balls
Sister Schubert cinnamon rolls
Fruit salad

We eat a light breakfast because our big Christmas meal is at noon. :)
