Are you thinking about it yet?

As soon as I get settled back in here at my DD's I'll start going through my recipes, making lists of ingredients I need, etc..

Baking for Christmas is one of the activities that I love the best.. :flower:

oh yes, I'm thinking about it...

I always plan to start my Christmas baking over the Thanksgiving weekend...sometimes I actually do start then, and sometimes I don't.

But this year, I can't wait 'til Christmas for those yummy rum balls! So I might even make them BEFORE Thanksgiving!! :cool1:

I seriously need to get fresh flour and spices and walnuts and pecans and cranberries and cherries.... :rotfl:

::yes:: already started to bake this and that.
And, I am ready to bake my Christmas cookies and cakes to give out to family and friends, but that will be a week or so before Christmas.

I'm sure thinking of it! And planning already. I've got my list ready and have even started buying ingredients. I will begin the beginning of December. I can't wait!!

Do you make walnut christmas toffee????
That is MY favorite christmas treat. MY mom makes it for me every year. It is kind of hard to make and I can't do it......

I don't do much baking though.

Definitely. I love to bake. I've already caught a couple of flour sales. And my list is growing every few days. I enjoy scanning for new recipes and making my old ones.

The delicious aromas in my home this time of year are wonderful.

My husband & I have been on diets since September. Fruitcake is definitely out of the question this year. I'll have to see what I can make, it's not going to be much, this year. I love to bake too, so darn!

Oh Yes! I love to bake for the Holidays! I'm planning on doing more than usual this year!

We should start a thread of our favorites!!! I would love to find out what everyone likes to make.

You betcha..

being in a new neighborhood.. I was going to do my best of best, tried and true cookies, candy and cakes to do for the new neighbors.

however.. I have been scoping out new recipes to try.

I made a ez turtle cheese pie last night.... the bugger never did set right..
SHOOT.. but I shall try it again.

Have fun!

I usually do some but this year because finances are so tight we'll be giving lots of gifts of cookies and candies to Dh's boss and co workers and anyone else who isn't very close family. Anybody got good recommendations?

While it's not really "baking"...it's easy, inexpensive, and fun...have you considered making chocolate covered pretzel sticks?

I make them with the Wilton candy things, in both white and milk chocolate. I leave some plain, some with sprinkles, some with chopped nuts...lots of options! With the white chocolate, you can add green or red food coloring (or even buy the green or red candy things) and get really creative!

Then I just put them in decorative bags and that's it!

Last year, someone made mini-loaf cakes and poured apricot nectar over them...that was good! And easy too! :)

If you don't want to fuss with making a lot of cookies, breads and muffins are quick, easy and yummy.. :)

As for candy, most everyone loves fudge - but will rarely pay the exhorbitant costs that the candy stores charge, so it's really a treat to get a batch from someone else.. :flower:
