When do the Christmas decorations go up at Universal? Is there still a Merry Grinchmas?

The decorations usually go up around the middle of November and last year, Grinchmas started December 6th and ran until New Year's Day.

It was so pretty last year. We took tons of photos. Suess landing was amazing! We were there at the end of November, so never saw Grinchmas, but we took tons of photos of what we saw. It was great!

We went this past December 15th and it was very cool. The Macy's parade was a real treat too. Also RPR was decorated real nice with a big tree in the hotel lobby.:thumbsup2

The parks are beautiful when decorated and so are the hotels. This year will be our first time getting to go to Grinchmas and seeing the Macy's parade. We can't wait! :goodvibes I love Universal around the holidays. After Thanksgiving they had a tree lighting ceremony, gingerbread house decorating, and Santa come, but we missed it since we were leaving to come back home for PA. :rolleyes1

And the weather is usually perfect in December! :cool2:

One of my goals is to make it to Universal at Christmas time :goodvibes

Glad to hear the decorations will be up but am really bummed about missing Grinchmas. We leave on Dec. 5th and it sounds like we'll just miss it. I figured they would start up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Does anyone know if maybe they do a "soft" opening like rehearsals prior to the main opening? Same with Macy's parade. I've seen Grinchmas but my dgf hasn't and I was excited about her seeing it she's such a Grinch fan.

Are the crowds just horrible at Christmas?
Yes...the week after Christmas is nuts for all the local parks.

We don't know the dates for this year so don't give up hope. The website is still showing the dates from this past year. :rolleyes1

MetroWest, we're looking at coming down the Saturday before T'giving and departing the Wednesday before T'giving, think that there is a remote chance that there may be some special soft opening like of the parade?

I doubt it but you never know. Let's wait until the new dates come out and then speculate.
