Am I being silly wanting to do DL for a week from the day after Christmas. We are planning on WDW in September 2010 and I am finding that I really don't want to wait that long. The thing is I'm self employed and took 5weeks off work to do WDW in Nov/Dec last year. I really can't do it again so soon and I close from the day before Christmas until just after new year. So my choices are go then or not at all. Should I wait for WDW or try DL at Christmas?

That week (Christmas week) is the most crowded week of the whole year. So I don't recommend it if you:
-can't handle super crowds
-can't wake up early to get to the parks by 7AM every day

However if you are willing to wake up very early and get to the parks early and use FP a lot, then I do recommend it. The Christmas decorations are amazing.

We are fine with early mornings, we have a 3 and 5yr old so early mornings are nothing new to us. And I've got the hang of FP. I couldn't imagine not using them. They were a lifesaver for us at WDW. We did WDW last year but left on 26 December so our last day in the parks was 24December. Most of the time it was quiet which was fantastic. It did get really busy on the last two days but I'm not sure how that compares to the Christmas week. We did AK on 24 December and waits by mid-day for things like EE were about 2hours with FP gone by lunchtime.
I really want to do DL this christmas, but I am also not going to be able to confirm anything until probably about Aug/Sept. I imagine that would be leaving it a bit late? We had booked WDW more than a year ahead.
