So I was driving through town today and overnight my town has already prepared for Christmas...no lie! The candy canes, snow men and Christmas tree designs were already hanging from the light poles, AND the stores are playing Christmas music! :scared1: I almost fainted as I walking through the store and heard "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas". Mind you, yesterday none of this stuff was up! Anyone else's town already all decked out??

They are just starting to prepare in my town. It will be up a running before thanksgiving.

Our Walmart had Christmas music playing this morning, and all the Halloween stuff was stuck in the aisles to make room for Christmas merchandise. It caught me off guard when I realized what the music was, but I love it!

The town we lived in last year (for a VERY long 10 months) was a weird place to be in October. Several houses had Christmas decorations up next to their Halloween decorations all month long!

I was in Walmart yesterday picking up a couple extra bags of Halloween candy for last night and they were already reducing the candy aisle and had a partial section all decked out with Christmas candy.

They started decorating over here in Singapore last week. There are lights going up on Orchard Road. It takes a lot of time to put it all up so they have to start early! :santa:

The interior of my house is about 80% decorated and I'll finish when I put up the tree this week.
The wreaths on the exterior will go up on the Sunday after Thanksgiving when I get back from WDW!!

I put out my Christmas garland and Christmas lights on my front porch last night along with my front window! They aren't lit but they are up and ready to go! We'll also be going to Christmas village next weekend to see Santa! We would have gone tonight but DH had work. :( Gotta do it when its not snowing or below zero around here!

Right now my kids are playing with Christmas lights on the floor... why do I buy toys again??? Apparently monster trucks are invading Christmas town :confused3 ;)

Not yet, oddly enough. We were at Kohls & Target this evening and there wasn't much themed towards Christmas yet. I figured they'd at least have some holiday dresses or something, but there was hardly anything for girls & I couldn't find dresses at all for me!

Went to Lowes today and they didn't waste any time. All the artificial trees are up and lit. They also have all the ornaments & stuff out as well.

I bet all the turkeys are happy. Maybe we'll just skip that whole messy Thanksgiiving dinner thing ;)

On my way home from work on Friday a radio station was playing Christmas music. This is a station that normally plays classic rock but during the holidays plays Christmas music all day, all the time. They couldn't even wait for the day after Halloween. :scared1:

yup, I started my outside lights today. I don't want to be hanging lights in the freezing cold. Already put up my mickey santa blow up.

Our town doesn't decorate, just one nice old hotel does but I am sure it is up and running.
I already have all my presents done and wrapped. Got my custom photo christmas cards back in the mail this week and will start addressing them soon.
I am not sure what to do about the decor this year. I bought a great fake tree that I could use as my main tree, I usually do 2 one with all matching decorations and one with the kids decorations. IF I do the live tree I have to wait til after Dec 1st to get it. Christmas is a very very hard time for our family with the loss of our son so if I don't start stuff early the depression might set in and it won't get done. I usually put garland up on the bannisters but I did that last year and never lit it so not sure I want to do that much work this year. Also due to my eyesite I can't go up the ladder anymore I don't think so my oldest daughter gets to decorate the tree. So I am not sure if we should start now or wait. The only way outdoor lights are getting up this year is if I pay my neighbors to do it. My husband just is not in the mood for Christmas thats for sure.

I don't mind the early christmas stuff at all, I would just rather skip Thanksgiving LOL. But as I said the holidays are extremely hard for us so I am looking to tone down the effort I put into it this year but not dissapoint the ids at the same time. A real catch 22.

It was the same situation in Walgreens last night, too.

Same here. I was listening to Christmas music while driving my kids home from trick-or-treating last night.

Wow, I thought I was bad with the early decorating! :rotfl:
DH won't let me even mention Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving, though I love the Christmas season so much and this is my daughters first Christmas.. I'm so excited! :santa:
They've already put on Music Choice Christmas music.

The shops started stocking stuff over here in early September and the offical lights get switched on in Birmingham on Saturday. The malls are already packed and busy on the weekends, so i have been tending to shop in the evenings.

DH and I were at a park yesterday that we had never been to before. And they had all their Holiday lights and decorations up already. I don't know, maybe they leave them up year round or something. I was just surprised to see it.

I guess one of the radio stations here has already started playing Christmas music.
