Woe... woe... the airfare woes...
Actually, I can't complain too much. I am having to watch like a hawk... and finagle a bit... but all in all things seem to be working. I just am at another "what to do" moment.
I have booked Steve and Alex rt.
I have booked Zoe and I on a different day for our flight down.
Right now, I could book a return on the flight that Steve and Alex are on. It is finally within the amount I wanted our average pp cost to be. I had hoped to get between $200 and $250 rt pp average. (had not factored baggage in) If I pay for the flight for Zoe and I. It makes our average to be $237. That is good. (course considering I had to use 2 reward tickets to get that... maybe not so) Then we would have just the baggage costs for the return flight. My other option is to wait a bit longer and see what SW does. I know today they announced a big sale. (through November) Fares are pretty good on that sale. Also, the fare I want with them was lower when I booked our flight down...so maybe it will get back down to that?
Kinda kicking myself for not booking that when I booked the one way since it is now up by $130.

So Option 1: book now on the same flight with the guys
Pro - be on the same plane as them going home.
Be scheduled for the same DME.
Have the option of being done with all the airfare drama. (unless I wanted to change our flight from the 10th to the 9th)
Con - Having to pay for baggage for all 4 of us
Possibly getting locked into a fare that eventually goes down
Option 2: wait to book
Pro - Possible to get a cheaper fare
Possible to not have to pay for baggage
Possible to get a fare on SW that could be flexible.
Con - Non of the "pros" end up being the case
Have to book at a more expensive rate because I wait to long.
driving myself (and everyone else) nuts for just that much longer.

Kira and Zoe in the photo
Can't put my finger on where, so I am taking a guess, there is a monorail beam in the back, so I am going to say Magic Kingdom
Ann, that's a tough one!
And I guess I won't be much help either. If I had the option not to pay for luggage I probably would do that, but really, I have NO experience with that kind of scenario.
Here you hope that the rate is low enough (think around 1300$ per person) to book, hope to grab it soon enough and that's it ...... no changing as it is EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!
Yip, I told you ........ NO help at all!![]()
Zoe and Kira outside of MK on one of the boat dock benches!
<I think!>
It is Zoe and Kira. I am totally lost on location and asked Mark. He says it is on a bench between Toontown and Tomorrowland which is the back route to Tomorrowland from Toontown and you can see the monorail passing the Contemporary. And this is at the Magic Kingdom.
Okay, let me try this ......
Sweet Zoe meeting Pocahontas,
I am a bit lost on where, but I am taking a guess and saying AK, camp Minnie Mickey!
Ann, do me a favour, call it a day and get some rest! It must be pretty late in your area already!![]()
I got a call from Steve today while I was at work. He called to ask me if we had medicine for Zoe in the event she had an allergic reaction.![]()
Um... why do dads seem to think this way?I told him to look in pretty much every medicine cabinet in the house...and he would be able to find some for her. (I pretty much have a stock pile of the stuff and have it located EVERYWHERE in the house.
)
Anyway, he told me that she came to him and looks like she was punched in the face because her face and eyes swelled up so bad. After I questioned if she was breathing I just told him to give her the benadryl.. max dose and make sure she eats something cause she is likely to be out before I get home to give her dinner.
When I got home I saw she was OUT. Well, I made dinner and ate and just as I was finishing Zoe came down.Honestly when she first came down I would almost not have recognized her. Literally one of her eyes was so swollen it was not opening all the way. (like rocky fight looking eye) Then there was her entire face... looked like a balloon. I think had I been home, we probably would have gone to the hospital. It was THAT bad. It didn't take long and it started to go down... but after eating and drinking a ton(where she had the appetite from I am not sure.. maybe dad didn't feed her like I asked?
) she fell back to sleep.
I just have this feeling that they are going to cancel this surgery again... just a week to go...
Yikes, that sounds pretty scary!
Does she usually get allergic reactions? I would have been so scared coming home and seeing her like this.
Hope she gets better very very soon!Lots of healing pixie dust and thoughts on the way!
I hope Zoe is ok!! Allergies are so scary sometimes. I know friends of mine with severe allergies that he has to walk around with an epi pen. Is she allergic to anything?
I know what you mean about the search for airfare. Do you book or do you wait...it sometimes becomes a game I do NOT want to play. Often times I just book the airfare and then I make a promise to myself NOT to research airfare after that. Seeing a lower price will only make me angry. I think some sites, like Orbitz, has some sort of price guarantee, so if you book and the price goes lower, it may refund you the difference.
I too hate paying for luggage! That's why I often do not check in my stuff. But it was pretty cool to have ME take it for your, which is why I try to search out Jetblue when flying to orlando.
Good luck with the flight search! and don't get too stressed about it!
Positive vibes for Zoe and her upcoming surgery. Have you had any updates, visits to check her breathing since she went on the steroids? I would think those in itself would have kept the allergic reaction at bay because a lot of times the type of reaction you described as Zoe having - they use corticosteroids to treat the swelling, etc.
But I'm not a doctor - just have a kid with a quirky immune system...![]()
I seem to be slipping in catching the game picture when posted.I've a good excuse though -- too hot to be in the house without air so I've been sitting outside and then showering and bed.
I'm sorry to hear about Zoe. I hope she gets better soon and surgery does not have to be postponed.
