ok... someone calm me down again. I have backed off on the whole flight thing... thought we are so far out that prices are going to drop. Even after I saw that the flights I wanted went up... I remained calm. However, the departing flight is now up from $203 to $551 just in a week or so. So... I thought why not check the seat assignments. The flight I would want if we returned a bit early only has 9 seats left. How is that possible??? Everyone is booking for Christmas already? 9 seats???
Ok.. but the date we are booked through (the date I really do want to leave on) it has only about 30 of the seats claimed. Ok.... so maybe I will just have to watch this much closer than I thought I would. The departing ones are still about half booked so I really have to watch them. When I normally book flights it is much much closer to the date and I usually see the plane open. I am really concerned that everyone is going to go at Christmas. I wonder if this is going to be a VERY busy year.
On the plus side, I got a pin in my email. It is for Kira though. If we were going to go a couple days early and do a split stay... it would make a moderate the about same price as a value (the pin is for moderates only). With the pin though, I am thinking she would have to be in the room... darnShe and Josh are already talking about the next time the come back. Do you think December would be too soon for them to return.?

Backlot Express, if i had to pick one. I am not a fan of the QS at DHS other than Starring Rolls, but would go with the BLE if i had to choose another
I haven't tried Toy Story Pizza Planet but we really like the pizza in AK at Pizzafari. According to a Food Network Unwrapped episode on WDW, all the pizzas are supposed to be the same wherever you go but I've heard differing opinions on them. The two I have tried on your list are ABC Commissary and Backlot Express. I really preferred Backlot Express over ABC Commissary. ABC's burgers were more bland than Backlot. Though I have no idea why.
I wish I understood how the airline industry works. All I know is that I grabbed the cheapest seats I could find as soon as I knew we were going because all I ever see flights to do is go up.![]()
And, no, I don't think December is too soon!Ideally, I'd go in February and July every year! Doubt that that's a possibility, though. I think I'll have to be content with once a year.
I am so sorry to hear about your kitty, Ann... I know how hard it is to make that tough decision.
As for your trip- we recently had the DHS counter service dilemma. We ended up being so starving that we were walking around waiting for places to open at 11am. Pizza Planet won just cause it was closest. And we loved it! Though I've read the replies that Disney pizza is gross, so maybe my taste is just bad?![]()
For QS at DHS, I really always like TSPP for lunch or dinner. For breakfast, there really isn't much choice, esp. since ABC Commissary isn't open for breakfast anymore so I would say Fairfax fare because they had a great breakfast bagel sandwich that was sooo filling. I haven't had lunch or other quick service meals there though. ABC seems to be ok overall...they seem to have a lot of different selection but foodwise it has been hit or miss. For some reason I eat the chicken curry there a lot because it seems to be the only place in most of the Disney parks that has Indian food, and we enjoy it.![]()
Sorry...no help on the CS at DHS! As for airfares...SW opens tomorrow! I am in no position to purchase tickets tomorrow thanks to a childs visit to the emergency room and then Cami's vet bill.
I just had dh apply for a business visa for SW rapid rewards...we should be able to rack up enough points for about 2 tickets by when I have $$$ in August to book...praying that the fares remain close to what they open with...I looked at the fares from July to November and they are all constant...hoping that will remain true for me!
I was super excited today for two reasons.
1. Southwest came out with their december schedule and
2. I picked up a bunch of $10 off rt coupons while at work today.
However, the southwest coupon is only good until october... (anyone needing some??)
Anyway... Southwest wasn't cheaper and... as I mentioned, the coupon is not good in December.
Hi Ann, I have to put in my 2 cents for CS in DHS. I've eaten at StarringRolls several times and have been very pleased each time. The sandwiches are HUGE and the desserts really great! They do serve breakfast too, and actually have some pretty fabulous lattes and real coffee.
All caught up again, Ann!
Okay, I just can't let the chance to comment on food go by!DHS is not our favorite part foodwise! BUT ...... Starring Rolls is always a winner - huge sandwiches, yummy desserts, but the menu is a bit limited!
The other place we had good experiences at was Fairfax Fair! Tom had the ribs which were yummy and I had the pulled pork, which was nice too - desserts are standard - I think we had carrot cake!
Guess I need to get MY planning started soon too!![]()
Sorry you didn't get what you wanted.Hope everything else is going well, though.
Yeah... what the heck happened to their $89 one way fares???Anyway... Southwest wasn't cheaper and... as I mentioned, the coupon is not good in December.
Yeah! right????Yeah... what the heck happened to their $89 one way fares???![]()
I'm glad that you have other airlines and options to fall back on! Maybe the other airlines will come down a little as the time gets closer? How is Kira doing over there? Is she back yet?
Kira got back last night. I was able to look over her pp pics and they were awesome!!! Plus, Josh's chip was successfully implanted. When getting his keys out to go home, he mentioned that everything worked with a key to the world card. Too funny...
Will you share some of them with us??? We would like to see too.
YES for Josh's chip being successfully implanted.![]()
