Christmas addition to Illuminations

There has been an added 6 or 7 minute addition to Illuminations for the holidays. It is, in my opinion, about the most spectacular display of pyro technics we have ever seen on Disney property. The finale is incredible. The fireworks literally fill the sky! And the explosions are almost scary! It is something you have to see to beleive. We were even pellted by shell remnants in front of Italy where we were standing. If you can get there, or if you are already going in the next few weeks, this is a MUST SEE!

Absolutely agree. The Boomers at the end are unbelievable...... feels like someone smacks you in the chest. I'm going to miss it when we're there again in May.

We always grab a table in the seating area just left of the Rose and Crown. We send someone with a walkie-talkie to hold a table about 90 minutes before show time and then switch off and shop. We have always gotten a table right along the wall.

You should know that people will try and squeeze between you and the wall if you aren't paying attention. It's a great place to watch the show.

They use to sell Bass Ale right there too. You can get fish and chips at the counter service area next to the R&C. Then it's a easy walk out of the park.

You may get rained in ash!

That's why people who actually want to buy some fish & chips in the evening never have a proper place to sit down & eat them !! Same for the little Cantina over in Mexico. Forget trying to eat there after 7 pm.

I agree...the fireworks alone are worth going to Epcot for. If this doesn't give you goose bumps, nothing will. It was GREAT!!!! A must see!!

I could not believe how loud the ending was a few weeks ago! There was ash flying everywhere as we were walking out. I personally thought it got to be a little much for just a few moments at the end. It is a beautiful show, though. Since I got to see Wishes a few times, I don't think any fireworks will compare now....

We saw it twice and was even better the second time.

I have to agree I like the Christmas addition to Illuminations - actually I had just saw Illuminations for the first time in October so to see the addition on Dec 12th was great. Alot of people must not have known about the addition because there were tons of people leaving when it should have been the end and they continued to leave even though the fireworks were still going (and were even stronger than the ones in the rest of the show) I grabbed fish and chips but of course there was no where near there to sit and eat my fish and chips so I found a spot on the ground close to the entrance of World Showcase where I could watch the beginning since I wasn't going to be finished eating before it started.

I don't know why but Disney's fireworks show's always make me emotional - I don't know if its the combination of the fireworks with the music or if its just because its "Disney" But I throughly enjoy their firework shows and could watch them every day and probably still get emotional!! I still have to get to Fantasmic as I haven't seen that one - I did see the finale from the bus when I was on my way to Epcot when I was just there.
