Planning a trip to Disney on 12-22 to 12-28. We will be staying at our home resort, BCV. I am making my resevations next week and am wondering if there are any specific room requests I should make. This will be our first time to Disney at X-Mas and I don't know what to expect. This will also be our first trip staying at BCV. Thanks for any help you can give.

I think the most popular requests would be #1 nonsmoking, #2 Epcot view and possibly #3 not handicap ( I need a tub for my little guys.) Have a great trip and Welcome Home neighbor, we own at BCV also. I try and keep it simple for MS.

We did BCV for the first time for XMas this past year and it was fantastic. I would ask for the highest possible room as well. We were on the side facing the road near the bridge - and even though the woman said there were no Epcot views available we had a fantastic view of Illuminations...I will warn you, it is VERY loud. If you can see them, you can hear them.

I think that BCV is one of the most beautifully decorated areas and being so close to Epcot with all the holiday displays is fantastic.

I would be happy to answer any specific questions. We traveled with our almost 5 year old.
Happy Planning!

Thanks for the information. I talked to MS today and she told me that they are building a new attraction at Epcot and the Epcot view would not be a great choice for a room. Does anyone know about this new attraction?

Question for CarnotaurDad - Did you go to the X-mas parade on Christmas day or is it better to go an off day? We are also traveling with a 5 year old and a 2 year old.

Soaring is the new attraction going in at The Land. It is the same attraction as Soaring Over California at DCA. (I have been on it and it is GREAT!)

Keep in mind that if you "request" ( and that is the operative word...they are requests ONLY) the EPCOT view, you will also have a view of the Service Road and the traffic that goes with it. Personally, I thing that the EPCOT view is highly overrated at the BCVs, We have had it a few times. I think the quiet pool view is one the the nicest views at the BCVs, but that is MHO.

I dittto the higher floors as maybe just after non-smoking. We checked in 1/15 and requested non-smoking, high floor and epcot view. When we checked in they said no 5th floor, and no epcot view available. We got 4th floor and a view that stretched from American pavillion to beyond spaceship earth. A high floor (4/5) will get you above the "road". We had room 433- dedicated 2BR which was wonderful, then we moved to studio 269 which I didn't like the view. I don't know what is considered an Epcot view- if anyone knows let me know.

the 5th floor is above the construction views and room 557 and 559 give unobstructed views right over Canada to th illuminations show

Hi sparty,

We were there a couple of weeks before Christmas, so didn't have to choose between Christmas and an off day. It was fantastic.

:flower: Hi, neighbor - we own at BCV, too.

We've been down at WDW for a few different Xmas visits -

You didn't mention having any special needs like NS, HA, limited mobility, etc.

During our visit this Xmas, my mother was joining us. When I made the reservation, the CM asked if I wanted our room to be located near her room.
(I never would have thought to ask for that)

Yes, I did request that our rooms be close to each other, and that my mother's could be located near an elevator. (Mom has degenerative arthritis in her knees....stairs actually damage her knees.) We also checked w/ MS about a wheelchair, too. DVC members are not charged for use of resort wheelchairs. You do pay for them at the parks, I believe.

I would recommend doing your favorite things in the parks early - your visit starts on the 22nd, right?

Although it can seem crowded on any given day, it has always seemed to get more and more crowded in the parks starting on the 25th...definitely on the 26th. I was amazed at all the people checking in at BC, BW, and YC starting on the 26th this past year - the cars never stopped pulling in to drop people at the front desk area.

I would recommend deciding on any PS requests that you might want, and put the date (what is it now....90 days out?) on your calendar to call them in to MS.

The Candlelight processional is a special treat, as is Mickey's Very Merry Xmas party....I don't remember the booking timeline for those, sorry. MS can answer your questions about that.

We had Spirit of Aloha PS for NY's eve; you can make PS arrangements further in advance for the luau, hoopty doo review, and Mickey's Backyard BBQ, too.

Have a wonderful time!!! :Pinkbounc
