Somethin's Missin', Clay Crosse

You've got it made
So they say you do
Don't need a thing
And they envy you
Live like a king
In a castle
Got the money, got the power,
Got the world on a string

But there's an empty look in your eyes
And it's comin' from a heart that cries

Chorus:
'Cause somethin's missin' inside
Lookin' for a peace of mind
That you never will find
In the things of this world
Doesn't matter what you've got
If you don't know the love of God
There's somethin' missin' in your life

Look who walked in
You're a beauty queen
Right off the page
Of a magazine
Every man's dream
To be with you
Got 'em callin', got 'em fallin'
Got their hearts on a string

But you wonder why you feel alone
And why the misery within you grows

Repeat chorus

I have the answer
To put an end to all your pain
His name is Jesus
He will fill your world
With a love that'll never fade.

Repeat chorus

Jesus

Jesus
They say You walked upon the water once
When you lived as all men do
Please teach me how to walk the way You did
Because I want to walk with You Jesus
They say you taught a lame man how to dance
When he had never stood without a crutch
Well, here am I Lord, holding out my withered hands
And I'm just waiting to be touched Jesus
Write me into Your story
Whisper it to me
And let me know I'm Yours Jesus
They say You spoke and calmed an angry wave
That was tossed across a stormy sea
Please teach me how to listen, how to obey
'Cause there's a storm inside of me Jesus
Write me into Your story
Whisper it to me
And let me know I'm Yours Jesus
They drove the cold nails through Your tired hands
And rolled a stone to seal Your grave
Feels like the devil's rolled a stone onto my heart
Can You roll that stone away?

My Deliverer

Joseph took his wife and her child and they went to Africa
To escape the rage of a deadly king
There along the banks of the Nile,
Jesus listened to the song
That the captive children used to sing
They were singin'
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
Through a dry and thirsty land, water from the Kenyon heights
Pours itself out of Lake Sangra's broken heart
There in the Sahara winds Jesus heard the whole world cry
For the healing that would flow from His own scars
The world was singing
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
He will never break His promise - He has written it upon the sky
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
I will never doubt His promise though I doubt my heart, I doubt my eyes My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
He will never break His promise
though the stars should break faith with the sky
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming - my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming.

I just came from a conservative RC board, and the lack of love in their political forum is really depressing:( Many posters mock Kerry supporters, they say that we *hate* Bush, etc., etc., etc. Hate is a pretty strong word to use against your brother, and it, along with love, is also overused in this society. The candidates are often times even worse! I can't wait until this election is over in November.

Where in the world is Christian love towards your own brother? And people wonder why non-Christians refuse to come into the fold?!? If we can't love each other as family, which is what we are, then how can we love those outside the fold?

The picture I get in my mind is that God is crying over this forum because some of His kids are attacking His other kids simply because their political views are different. We are family, and I certainly do not think that Jesus approves. Besides, we are going to have to learn how to get along with one another since we'll be spending eternity together ;)

If Mary Matilin and James Carvile?? are married with children and can get along then I don't know why Christian brethren with opposing political views can't! :( Which brings up a question, are the Carville's Christians by any chance?

End of my rant. Thanks for listening :)

I am making progress on my job search-I just went to a job seminar last night, and got some good tips! I just pray that I get that job soon, and that I have faith that God will provide. Also, a gentleman in my parent's SS class just found a job after 10 months of looking-PTL!

hi ej,
i have to say that although i don't begrudge anyone there own political beliefs, and i believe in the freedom that is the basis of this greatest ideaology in history, there is something about this president that brings out loathing, if not outright hatred by a certain percentage of the population. witness the left coast crowd and their self appointed spokesman michael moore. i have also encountered a certain amount of political bigotry at any stance that i take that shows that i am a supporter of the prez, as well as just plain disrespect and maybe outright slander of him.
i didn't like his politics nor his actions while in office, but clinton was still the pres, and therefore was due the respect of the office, and in too many cases i don't see a similar attitude toward pres bush.

on a lighter note, how about those bu track stars in greece, glad to see we just keep putting out those 400m runners, and should see more gold for the green and gold in china as well. clyde hart must be a genius.

Diane, it's good to see you, I'm glad to hear that this gentleman got a job! I also continue to pray that your's comes along very soon! Yes, I agree with you that we need to love and respect each other regardless of our beliefs. I am a firm supporter of President Bush but I don't harbor any ill feelings towards anyone who is not. I tend to avoid political posts in general, they all seem to turn into hate fests and while I've personally seen more hatred and rudeness directed towards Bush and his supporters I have seen it on both sides. I don't mind talking politics with someone one on one but the gang attacks on the threads tend to be a bit much for me. Call me thin skinned, I call it just wanting people to behave like adults and love and respect each other as the Bible commands. I understand that not everyone is a Christian and they behave as such but I see a lot of people who profess to be Christians displaying some pretty nasty behavior as well. You can disagree with someone and make your point without being rude and obnoxious about it.

Phil, it's good to see you as well! I agree with you wholeheartedly that we should respect our President no matter who he is or if we share his beliefs or not. It comes down the fact that this is our country's leader and we need to pray for him instead of tearing him down.

Keep My Mind/Margaret Becker

If wished did come true
And dreams came to life
I'd get a hold of You
And never leave Your side
But in the black and white
I must live and breathe
I'll never capture You
But You could capture me

Keep my mind on higher things
Keep my mind on truth
Keep my mind on the anchor of love
That I have found in You

Some steps my feet have taken
In hot pursuit
Have led me to some places
Far away from You
But if I had my way
If it were up to me
I'd chain myself to You
And throw away, throw away the key

Keep my mind on higher things
Keep my mind on truth
Keep my mind on the anchor of love
That I have found in You

Every little thought
Every little dream
Every little thinking part of me
All about You
I wish they'd be
Keep my mind
Keep my mind
Keep my...

Keep my mind on higher things
Keep my mind on truth
Keep my mind on the anchor of love
That I have found in You

All That I Am/Margaret Becker

No one ever gave me
A love so fine
That gently heals my heart
One piece at a time
That takes each jagged edge
And every crooked line
And smoothes them to life

Well no one ever gave me
A love so sweet
That tips my heart to drink
When I'm fainting from the heat
That wraps my aching wounds
In strips of mercy
So tenderly

Is there anyone who can compare?

All that I am
And all that I will be
I place in Your hands
I rest at Your feet
All of my life
Indebted I will be
To You

No one ever moved me
Quite the way You do
And just like Jericho
I'm vulnerable to You
And though You know the way
To break me in two
You never do

Is there anyone who can compare?

All that I am
And all that I will be
I place in Your hands
I rest at Your feet
All of my life
Indebted I will be
To You

Silver and gold
Treasure they may be
Some would die for them
But the don't mean that much to me
Cause only You can give a love
That satisfies the soul
Sees the darkness of my heart
And still won't let me go

All that I am
And all that I will be
I place in Your hands
I rest at Your feet
All of my life
Indebted I will be
To You

Hey all! Question for you.. My Bible is getting a bit ragged (a good thing, I am told) and I was thinking of getting a new one. What version do you use, and why? I currently using a New Living Translation Touchpoints Bible. I really love it, but am not against switching versions/types.

Hi Jeanne! I have a few different Bibles, the one thing they have in common is that they are all NIV (New International Version). I like that version because it's easy to understand and hasn't been too modernized in it's translation so it's good for memorizing scripture in my opinion. My favorite Bible is a Thompson Chain Reference, it has just a ton of helpful study guides, etc. in it and an awesome concordance. I also like my Women's Devotional Bibles, I have the 1st & 2nd volume and both have some really good devotions in them. I was given a Thomas Kinkade devotional Bible and I haven't really looked at it much other than to oooh and ahhhhh over the pretty pictures inside. LOL

I hope that helps, it's always good when your Bible wears out, that means it's getting a lot of use! :)

The Measure of a Man/4HIM

This world can analyze and size you up

And throw you on the scales

They can IQ you and run you through

Their rigorous details

They can do their best to rate you

And they'll place you on their charts

And then back it up with scientific smarts

Bur there's more to what your worth

Than what their human eyes can see

CHORUS

Oh I say the measure of a man

Is not how tall you stand

How wealthy or intelligent you are

Cause I found out the measure of a man

God knows and understands

For He looks inside to the bottom of your heart

And what's in the heart defines

The measure of a man

Well you can doubt your worth

And search for who you are and where you stand

But God made you in His image

When He formed you in his hands

And He looks at you with mercy

And He sees you through His love

You're His child and that will always be enough

For there's more to what you're worth

Than you could ever comprehend

CHORUS

BRIDGE

You can spend your life pursuing physical perfection

There is so much more, more than ever meets the eye

For God looks through the surface

And He defines your worth by, what is on the inside

Lay It All On the Line/4HIM

So don't go wastin' your time

Holding on to your life

There are treasures that I have possessed

Meant the world to me

But they never filled the emptiness

I needed something more than these

In the middle of my wilderness

God reached down to me

When I let go to His tenderness

I found this life was more than I ever dreamed

CHORUS

So don't go wastin' your time

Holding on to your life

Just lay it all on the line

Gotta make up your mind

There can be no more compromise

Just lay it all on the line

_

It's a matter of surrendering

Every hidden fear

And by letting go of everything

Jesus will meet you there

In the heart of every one of us

There's a call to faith

Even though we'll never measure up

That's why the Savior, that's why the Savior came

CHORUS

CHORUS

BRIDGE

Gone are the days of holding on

This is the time to surrender

Now is the moment you've got to let it go

Just let it go (repeat)

Don't go wastin' your time

Gotta make up your mind

There can be no more compromise

Just lay it all on the line

CHORUS

CHORUS

Hand/ Jars of Clay

I'm here waiting for something new to break my heart
So callous laden, I can't feel a thing at all
Will You catch my fall?
From lost and not found, to run and not hide
My hand inside... (Your hand)
Fear is keeping time with the beating of my heart
Doin' way too much thinkin'
And it's tearing me apart
But I, I feel You reach for me
From lost and not found, to run and not hide
My hand inside... (Your hand)
Losing my grip falling so far
My hand inside Your hand I hear Your voice and follow
So hard to believe, and still I go.

Jeanne, I am so glad you asked about what Bibles everyone uses, because I am trying to figure out what Bible would be good for me to use( since I am a baby Christian).

Have any of you ever been to a Women of Faith Conference? They are going to be having one here on October 22, 23. I just got done buying my ticket and a ticket for my friend( Darla), her and I are going to go to it together. Darla has been to it before and she said it is really good. She also thought it would be really good for me to go to it this year too! They have a whole bunch of speakers, that do talks on different topics and I think they also have some Christian singers that come to this too. When I get back from it, I will be sure to tell you all about it. I just wanted to see if any of you have been to it before or even have heard about it.
