hi everybody,

don't have long, got to go to bed, but just wanted to say praise God, i'm in jacksonville, getting ready for the big game. we started putting in cable in on the 20th, and now we are putting in equipment and more guys show up every day, i don't know where i'll be standing during the game yet, but i'll update ya'll when i find out. thanks for prayers for me as well as family as we miss each other and they get along without me. so far it's been a lot of work but also a lot of fun, and now we look forward to this big week and more fun.

Hi everyone!

It's been a long time since I've posted. I have something I would like to to share with you guys as to why I've been away from this thread. I've prayed about this already and now I would like to share with you guys. First I want to say that my God is an awesome God! For the past 2 1/2 years I totally lost focus as to what and who is important in my life. I put Jesus aside and tried to do everything in my life MY WAY. Well let me tell you what MY WAY did for me...Absolutely nothing. It caused me lots and lots of distress. My way caused me to be a person who God never intended for me to be. My way caused me to do things he never wanted to do, say things he never wanted me to say. My way caused me to have a lot of pain in my life. Until recently. Back in September I went away to school in Mississippi (I'm in the military) for two and a half months. For 2 1/2 months I was away from my family and had time to focus. To focus on things in my life that were important. I had almost three months to think about the person I had become and when I relized the person who I was I stopped. I knew I needed to do something and that is when God appeared and told me he was waiting for me. Waiting for me to depend on him again. He opened his arms and embraced me. A warm embrace as if a mother consoling her child when they have fallen, to let the child know that everything is okay. See I lost focus of what was important I allowed the devil cloud my mind. I realized that the devil had me right where he wanted me to be, on the path of self destruction. Buy the end of the two months away from home, I was a new person in Christ. While away I did not have a church to attend, so I would get up every morning and listen to Joyce Meyer on television while I got dressed. Boy let me tell you I found peace! Resounding peace! I love it. I found that doing things my way is not the way. Jesus is the way. I have again put my faith in him and pray I never back slide again. I've started going back to church (although the past sunday and this sunday we are snowed in) I tune in to Joyce Meyer to get my dose of Jesus. Frankly I could tune in all day if I could and time allowed. I want to thank God for the spiritual spanking he has given my. I want to thank him for how he is moving in my life. He has plans for me and I need to be obedient and allow him to move and have is being. Guys my life in just a matter of months has done and complete 360. Things are not clouded when you put Jesus first. I say this because I'm going to be bold with my walk in Christ. I had a testimony and wanted to share it. Thank you for listening.

Kim, I'm new here but wanted to offer my encouragment...you are not alone..God uses times in our life to strengthen us and bring us closer to Him. What a blessing that you have found this strength and used it to praise Him.

Hallelujah! Our family has been going through some trying times this past year...and two things have come of it...I realize I don't read my Bible as often as I should and how important it is for a family to pray together. When things are going well...we just seem to ride the wave...but I know now that even in good times we should be in prayer as a family..my children have grown so much in their understanding of God's love for us through these tough times...
