The Christmas Shoes

Okay, so who got new cd's for Christmas? I got two, Newsong:The Sheltering Tree (thanks T! ) and 4HIM:Visible (Thanks Mom! ).

I already knew a lot of the songs from the first one and have posted some of my new favorites from it already since I got it a little bit before Christmas, shhhhh, don't tell on me for opening it early. I'm really a good, patient little girl.

I just listened to Visible this morning for the first time having heard none of the songs on it yet. As always 4HIM just blows me away. For those of you who may be newer to this thread 4HIM is my favoritest group of all time and have been since I was 13! Three songs have emerged already as istant favorites even after only one listen. Well, okay, this one that I'm about to post I listened to about 5 times but the cd as a whole I listened to only once. So anyway, this one is my favorite so far.

(Side Note to Jilly~ I'd say Kirk has the "final word" on this song, wouldn't you? )

Hey Ya'll! I pray everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Edie...I am so in prayer for you dear sister. I hope your day went well and that you were filled with Jesus on Christmas... in your joy and your sorrow. Having been a child with divorced parents, I can so relate to the things you are going through...from a different angle of course, but I think the feelings are similar. This time of year can be particularly difficult,...I can remember despising and dreading Christmas as a kid. But as I grew and trusted ever more in God's sovereignty I came to know that He truly works all things for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. I used to hate when people would quote that verse to me, but I now have come to embrace it and to know that in EVERY circumstance God is my ALL IN ALL! I don't know why I went through what I did as a child, but I can look back and KNOW that God never left my side and that He was constantly drawing me closer to HIM.

My favorite artist Bryan Duncan sings "I Heard the Bells" on his Christmas CD (which also happens to be one of my all time favorite CD's) and He comes in on that last verse with such strength and the words just shine forth! "The WRONG SHALL FAIL THE RIGHT PREVAIL with peace on earth good will to men" I LOVE IT! ALSO on that CD...( and I know for a fact that some of you on here OWN it...so go and take a listen! ) he sings What Wonderous Love is This blended with What Child is This. WOOOOOOOOOO!!

Dan, I think this is actually the fourth or fifth thread...I know the original was started in the Fall of 2000 and I didn't start posting till like page 60 or something but I've been hooked ever since!!!! PLUS I have made some wonderful friendships here!

MICHELLE!!!!!!!!! The 4HIM CHristmas CD has been played almost everyday either in my home, car or job since Thanksgiving ended! Thanks for posting those songs from it!!! So hard to choose a favorite...I love In Your Care...and their version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is so THEM!!!!!!!!! It's great!

I think The Final Word is my favorite from the new album. My kids love that song...my boys like all the "Andy" songs. And "yes" I always make sure they never forget who has the final word on that song! That is such a cool ending. Candle in the Rain.... WOW! WHat a song! I still remember when I did my first listen through I heard the following and said to myself..."This is going to be a SUPER album!" ...
