Chris' father passed away yesterday.

So much for a good start to 2004... My SIL found my FIL yesterday around 10am and apparently he died in his sleep so if there is a silver lining it is that he didn't suffer. He was only 59. Chris is in shock I think, it was just about 5 years ago that we lost his sister at 26 in a horrific car accident. We were supposed to be at Disney this week but Chris found out his company was sending him to Phoenix for an award ceremony so we postponed. He doesn't go get his award but we weren't on vacation when this happened either. Funny how things work out.

Whenever we spoke with my FIL on the phone he would just hang up when he was finished without saying goodbye and it always bugged me but I never said anything. Just 3 days ago we spoke and he hung up, I told my MIL "Tell him 'Thanks' for saying goodbye' and he muttered something about having to do something but he got back on the phone and said "Goodbye Sweetie Pie". I'm just so thankful I made him say goodbye this time.

We leave for Canada in a few hours and we won't be back until the weekend after next. If you all could keep us in your thoughts and prayers we would appreciate it. My husband's family has experienced so much loss and sadness. My MIL needs strength to make it through this. Thanks. :/
