Chris Brown

And I find it more honorable than taking my arm and walking away. :thumbsup2

You are the type of woman that I will tell my nephews and son to stay away from. My wife would do everything in her power to get me away from any kind of confrontation. And I'm a pretty big guy who's trained in martial arts.

I agree.

Yes, I'm a stong independent woman that will kick somone's butt if they hurt my family. Stay far far away.
I'm not docile or timid woman by any means. It takes a very strong man to be with me. Good thing I found DH I love him to pieces:lovestruc.

Congratulations!

Maybe he became that person over time. maybe he was driven crazy, who knows but him. I just think it's interesting that he NEVER physically abused his first wife as far as i know.

Or maybe his first wife was just one of the many women who will not admit to having been abused because she's embarrassed or humiliated by it.

Amen.

I have to say, I think some people on this thread are posting some of this insane stuff for attention. Nobody can be this uneducated on domestic violence. Can they?

He didn't abuse his first wife so far as we know...that's the point, isn't it? None of us *knows* other than the two people in a relationship. Sometimes their close family and/or friends might know but sometimes they don't.

agnes!

No, please explain your implication.

Would you rather hear he doesn't hit me because he loves me and respects me. Well obviously he does because we are married and why would I be with someone who doesn't. Let alone have a child with them?

Abusive men KNOW who they can abuse. Which is why you have women who say no he never hit me and some who claim constant abuse. IE OJ Simpson. He never hit his first wife. He did attack his second. Why is that? Which is why I say Chris Brown hasn't meet his match.

Your theory is one that only perpetuates violence. You can twist this all you want, but an abuser is an abuser. The excuse of someone pushed him to it is just beyond words. Own it, take responsibility, show some humility. Chris Brown has done none of it. And either did OJ.

You're asking yourself the wrong questions.
Do I punch a guy knowing that I may get beat up or killed?

Do I drive faster than the speed limit knowing that I increase my chances of being in an accident?
There are millions of other questions that I ask myself regularly that I didn't add to that list. It doesn't mean that they weren't considered.

I'm just not ok with the idea of letting people say or do what ever they want to me without fighting back. :snooty:

Let’s say a child is pushing their parents buttons. Lets say this child is a pre-teen girl. Not just naughty or annoying, let’s say, being down right bad. Not listening. Driving their parents crazy. Pushing them to the edge. Parent tells them over and over to “stop”. Child knows they are being horrific. Doesn’t care. Keeps it up. And up.

Is it ok to beat (not spank, but beat…busted lip and all) this child? Is it ok to draw blood? Is it ok to smash this teenager’s face off of a dashboard? At what age is it ok to beat a child that pushes buttons? That dares to “poke the bear”?

What a strange post. What does your size or 'martial arts' training have to do with it? Are you saying that without your wife's involvement that you would always be spoiling for a fight because your size and 'martial arts' training allows you to bully others with impunity? How do these facts factor into the reason that you wouldn't allow your nephews or son to get involved with a woman who would fight back if abused? (Also, it's a bit strange that you put your nephews first before your son, but let's save that for a different time.)

With respect to your post and the posts of others who have posted on this thread recently, is it possible to get back to the original topic about Chris Brown?

You're comparing apples to oranges. Abusing a child has nothing to do with defending yourself. Parent/child relationships are different than Boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/ wife. It's never ok to hit your child. Let's be rational.

You realize that Queen2PrincessG has never taken the position that it's OK for anyone to beat his/her wife or child, right? That position has been attributed to her by a few people who are not carefully reading her posts.

If I'm not mistaken, her actual position is that any woman who is getting beaten by her husband/boyfriend/whoever should get out of the relationship, preferably after taking a baseball bat to the beater. Is anyone actually arguing against this position?

I am pretty sure her position is basically “don’t push a man to hit you and you will be ok” (ie “Don’t poke the bear”, as she posted earlier). Another position she seems to have taken is “show a man you are tough and will fight back, and he won’t hit you”.

Both are uneducated.
