choosing the date

We truly don't have an official "we started dating date" or anything like that. Basically DF had control over the date we chose and I wanted my aunt who works in a school to be in the wedding which just happened to work out.. but he chose July 8, 2009 basically for the play on numbers of 7-8-9. That and probably so he will remember our anniversary haha ! LOL :rotfl:

Originally I wanted July 18, 2009 as it was my great aunt's birthday - she's now deceased and I wanted to be reminded of her on my special day. But then when we decided to do a DFTW, we couldn't do July because it's hurricane season - my DF is a meterologist specializing in tropical weather. I know October is the end of hurricane season, but I started running out of dates that would be good for people. None of my New England family wanted to come down in summer (if the temps go above 80, we all about die). So I said FINE! And went with my school vacation week in October. I know it's a weird week to have off, but I live on the Canadian border, and Columbus Day is Canadian Thanksgiving, and my school is about 50% Canadian, so they give it to us off.

Furthermore October 12 allows family who can only afford to be there for the weekend to go home on Tuesday and just miss one day of work. Same for my nieces - they can go home and just miss one day of school. I wanted a weekday ceremony as well, to keep the costs down. Some of my vendors give discounts for weekday events. And Rob and I met on October 8, we figure the 12th will allow him to remember our anniversary in the future -lol.

So that is my doctoral dissertation on why I chose October 12th - crazy isn't it?;)

Well I chose May 7th...Tim and I started dating May 7th 2000! I love May in Disney so it worked out perfect.

I vote for May 1st LOL!

me and my DFI have chosen the date July 26, 2010. We chose this date because he will be a band direct then for the local high school and myself a math teacher. With him being a band director we also have to think of band camp (i know what your going to say) but marching band and music is our life. But little did i know that the date July 25 was already a big date within the family, its his parents wedding anniversary. We have considered changing the date but if we do it, it would be moved to December. Although i would love all the christmas decor around me but that would mean i would have to wait even longer to be married to my prince charming so we are keeping our date as July 26, 2010. We are just going to do something really special for his parents at the rehearsal dinner.
