Myself 25, and my GF23 are going to WDW for 8 days in march and we were trying to pick restaurants that we would enjoy. We have never eaten outside of the parks except for 1900 park fare once. We never stayed on property and this will be my longest vacation there. in the past we normally just left 2 days to do 1 park each day so we never left the park. Here is what we have picked out that sounds good to us. I am very diverse and will eat anything but my GF is not.

Chef Mickey's Character Bfast
Donald's Breakfastasaurus
Crystal Palace Character Bfast
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater (we love the atmosphere)
Mama Melrose
Big River Grill and Brewing Works
Olivias in OKW
Boma (I would love to try this)

What are some other recommendations that you all have experienced and would like to share.

You have 2 of our favorites listed there, Chef Mickeys breakfast and Mama Melrose.
We have also tried Donalds and had a disappointing experience there. However, many other people have rave reviews for it, so I think its worth trying for yourself.
Some of our other favorites are Kona Cafe(all 3 meals) and Ohana(dinner), both at the Poly, ESPN for bar food on the Boardwalk, and Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club for a more upscale meal.
Good luck deciding. You are right, it is tough.

For not being adventurous I would drop Boma. Also, Olivia's is basically an upscale diner with a general American menu.

I would add any table service or buffet in Epcot except Nine Dragons. Also, at the Studios I would suggest Prime Time and Bown Derby.

I would also suggest any of the table service restaurants in the Deluxe hotels; a special favorite is the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary which I consider the most underrated restaurant on property. For wonderfule coffee and desserts, and generfally good food, go to the Kona in the Polynesian.

I will disagree with dropping Boma the food is fairly normal with the addition of some different spices. and it's allways fun to check out a different resort ,leave pleanty of time for checking out the animal kingdom lodge. Wilderness lodge has some great places to try also.Prime time calfe is alot of fun at disney studios the list goes on :cool1:

Mama Melrose is one of our faves. The food and service are very good and because it is off the beaten track a little quieter.
Sci Fi is a fun restaurant. We went recently and had heard the food reviews as bad. But we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was.

I would also suggest one of the wonderful EC WS restaurants, Le Cellier, Mitsokoshi or Marrekesh.

Some great resort restaurants:
Lunch - Beaches & Cream, Konas
Dinner - Yachtsmans, Concourse St, Flying Fish, Boatwrights (Cajun), WC is a fun one.
Breakfast - Concourse, Konas

is an experience that everyone should try. Especially if you have never been to the AKL. The atmosphere (for BOMA and the AKL) is incredilbe and the food at Boma is delicious and extremely high quality.

Have a great time!

I would certainly not remove Boma because your GF is not an adventurous eater. there will be more than enough "normal" stuff on the buffet for her to eat. (And besides, she might actually try some different stuff since it's included in the price anyway.) It's really wonderful.

I really like Big River Grill and Brewing Works. Great lunch and dinner spot that you don't hear too much about on the boards- I really like it.

If you want to do Sci-Fi, definately do lunch as opposed to dinner.

If you have the budget, I would recommend doing one of the premier resort restaurants one night. California Grill, Flying Fish, Jiko, Citricos-- that sort of thing.

Hope this helps!

I don't think Boma is too adventurous. I'd drop Big River from the list. It isn't anything special. I agree with dining at a sit down at World Showcase except Nine Dragons. For someplace special I'd recommend Artist Point, California Grill or Fultons. We aren't big breakfast people so I can't help you there. We like Prime Time and the Brown Derby in addition to Sci-Fi at MGM.

I (second, third, twelfth!?) Boma.. its an excellent, neat place to dine. The food was scrumptious, especially the curry chicken soup and the prime rib w/various sauces.

I also LOVE Mama Melrose. Their penne ala vodka is to die for and our server, Heidi, was exceptional. After professing my love for panceta she made sure the chef added extra to my dish.

I tried that for the first time on my last visit there and I agree...Its delicious! On our next trip, even though we wont be at MGM at dinner time(we only have 1 park day), Im making a special trip back to MM just to get that penne ala vodka again.

I would try the Brown Derby at MGM, 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM (good old fashioned American food with a nice atmosphere) and try something like Teppayanaki in Japan at Epcot, because it is ethnic but pretty standard and easy for those picky-it is grilled veggies, meat, etc. and you pick what kind. It is pricey but a neat experience, they cook it on grills right in front of you. We go every year, even our picky kids can eat there!

Le Cellier
Beaches and Cream
Ohana (somebody already mentioned this one I think... :D)
Spoodles breakfast (their dinner fare is getting worse, breakfast is yummy...)
Tangeriene cafe (counterservice but oh so good)
Whispering Canyon
Artist Point

Good luck with choosing your restaurants, I know how hard it could be.

I like your list except for the Big River. I've had lunches twice and both times they were not up to standard.

Have fun!

I also enjoy Kona Cafe for a resort restaurant, and Ohana's is awesome.
