Okay experts, we need help!

April 29-May 7th we will be at WDW to celebrate our 5th Anniversary (plus it's the honeymoon we never had!). This is our one and only trip without kids (can't believe we're leaving them for a week!) and we want it to be very special. We cannot seem to settle on a resort. What we have considered....

Wilderness Lodge (we like the theming)

Swan/Dolphin (they're just so beautiful! And close to Epcot!)

POFQ (like the theming)

Renting DVC points for a studio (just something we considered but don't really know why LOL)

None of the monorail resorts really interest us (crazy aren't we?) Not really truly sure why we would rent the DVC points for a studio, just sounded like a good idea at one point! We won't need the kitchen, this is our trip to splurge and eat out as much as we want to. 95% of our time will be split between MK and Epcot, we will spend no time at AK and possibly a half day at MGM.

Suggestions? Anyone stayed at all of the above and have feedback?

Out of those choices Id got for the Swan/Dolphin. We stayed at the Swan for the first time last year and I was pleasantly surprised by it. The location and transportation options are wonderful! Being able to walk to the neighboring resorts, or hop a boat to Epcot or MGM, or even to walk, is so convenient. The restuarant options nearby are great and those heavenly beds are just that...heavenly!
I plan to go back to the Swan for a long weekend coming up soon, and when DH and I go for a couple days for our 10th anniversary, we are thinking about staying there again.

My vote would be the Swan. My DH and I enjoyed our stay there very much and it has become one of our favorites.

You might also consider the Yacht Club - we prefer it to the Beach Club but love the ambience of the entire location.

If you are splurging, then go for the Beach or Yacht Club. That having been said, I LOVE the Swan/Dolphin but in your case, would probable choose the Swan. I think this area is just GREAT!

So convenient and so pretty, lots of pools to choose from at the S/D. Also, we found the staff VERY courteous and attentive, all of our requests were met, and their consierge was able to make several same day PS's for us - we were not staying consierge, by the way.

If you are planning on spending most of your time at Epcot/MGM the transporation options are sooo much better (and quicker than if you stayed DVC - unless it was BWV or at WL)

I think you would be pleasantly surprised at how nice this option is for what you are looking for.:D

We just stayed at the Yacht Club and loved it. The location at the boardwalk was just awesome. Fun to walk around epcot world showcase at night - and some great dinner options there at epcot in the worlds. I stayed at the Dolphin once and was very dispappointed in the room. It was the worst disney room I have ever stayed at. But maybe they have renovated since then. Walking to epcot is just so awesome. And the boardwalk itself is fun and romantic at night.

Whereever you chose have a great time!!

Why not split your stay and stay at 2 favorite resorts? Also just wondering-Why won't you be visiting AK? It's not one of our favorites but we usually spend a half day there!! Have a great honeymoon!!!

I don't think you are crazy to rent points. You could rent a studio at the Beach Club and pay a fraction of what you would pay if you just rented a room from Disney. We are renting points for this trip and our 2005 trip. Our trip this year is costing us $180 a night for a one bedroom at the BWV. Next year we are renting a studio at the BWV for $90 a night! No code would get you a room at the BWV for $90 a night!

My vote: rent points and stay at the BCV or the BWV!

Well, we are going in November with the kids and we'll get more than enough AK then! It's one of dd's favorites. So I figure that we can probably skip it in May (though we've never been on Dinosaur or ITTBAB so maybe we'll head over to do those two.)

Not sure why you wouldn't at least consider the Poly. We stayed there for our honeymoon in September and it was great. Laying on the beach at night watching the MK fireworks and the EWP plus just walking around at night with the tiki torches burning, hard to get more romantic than that. Plus being able to hop on the monorail to MK or just walk over to the EPCOT monorail made the location perfect for us.

I would vote for AKL! I don't care for AK itself that much, but the Lodge is one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in! It was so romantic and exotic. The atmosphere is great. Plus, since you will be "kidless" :p you would really enjoy both Jiko and Boma without having to worry about picky eaters (unless your DH is like mine and he still liked both!) Victoria Falls is a great quiet place to have a drink and they have an amazing wine list.

Have fun!

WL gets my vote. I wish we would have stayed there on our honeymoon, but I didn't know anything about it. We stayed there last year (with kids) and it had such a romantic feel. Good luck. Let us know what you decide.

Well, it's an exciting choice to have to make! We are going to visit our top picks in November and choose from there. Your input has helped us narrow down to Swan/Dolphin and WL. Any of those three would be great by me so I think I'll let dh have the final choice.

I second the vote for the Yacht Club! We were so glad that we chose it for our honeymoon. The location was so handy for us. There's just something about the architecture that takes me back to a wonderful simpler time. I can't say enough good things about it!

Have a great time!

I would get the WDW for Couples book. It has great ideas for that kinda trips.
