My brother introduced me to brie; at the time I was a very non-adventurous eater. It was a lovely slab, baked in bread, with sliced apples encircling it on the plate.
Fast forward two decades:

Give it a try, yours could be good or better than what I had.
Remember - you are not limited on your selections. You can skip courses, order several items, double up on items… I’m pretty sure they prefer that you don’t order a second appetizer after they have brought out the Mains, as the kitchen is somewhat an assembly line. But if you are eating your appetizer and see others eating something that looks good, the waiters have always brought one out if requested. … without rolling their eyes.
Despite my preconceived ideas of what to order, the waiters’ suggestions have gotten me some excellent choices.
Most of my adventures in food have come from other people’s prodding me out of my comfort zone - or eating on a cruise ship. I have eaten escargot. Once, on DCL. It‘s the garlic I remember.
