Choosing Magic Bands...fight with DH

Hi guys. I'm going to WDW in three months and my DH and I cannot agree on magic band colors. We tabled the discussion a few months ago because we got into such a vicious argument. He wants green, and so do I! I've argued that green is my favorite color (has been since I was 4 years old...yeah...even my senior class RING WAS GREEN!) to no avail. I was willing to have us both do green, but he thinks that will be too confusing. I suggested that we write our initials on there in permanent marker but he said that would "destroy the integrity" of the band. Like I said, at the time, we tabled the discussion because we were both getting too heated.

Well, it's getting to be crunch time so I brought it up again. Immediately another big fight. Now we're not talking to each other which really hurts my heart. We were supposed to go to The Cheesecake Factory tonight, but he hasn't texted me all day so I doubt that's even happening. Do you think I should just give in and choose blue, my (VERY distant) second choice? Or stand my ground? How important is magic band color to you and your SO?

Yep. Your names will be on the inside of the Magic bands so no way to confuse them.

I assumed after reading the first paragraph that you were being semi-facetious. Then I got to the second paragraph and realized you guys were actually arguing about Magic band colors. IDK, I can think of so many better things to argue about with my spouse that I would not waste any energy on this one. Just my $0.02.

If the color of your magic band is the biggest thing you all have to fight about, consider yourselves very lucky. But I find it concerning that you said the argument over something so small turned vicious. Surely there has to be a better solution.

Even if they got mixed up, I don't understand the issue. I assume you're staying in the same room, riding rides with the same fastpasses and you'll both be charging to the same credit card. Am I missing something here?

I don't understand why it would matter.

I originally had selected yellow, then my DD5 said she wanted to match me, so I switched.
DD8 then asked DH if he would match her. She had picked his absolute least favorite color (red), so he switched, without a hesitation.

I don't care what color my MB is as long as it gets me in the Resort and in the parks.

It DOES concern me that this would be such a big fight. Why? Is your DH this controlling all the time or is this just an oddity?

I would get green let him get green your names ( or what every you want is on the inside) I go with a friend a lot I put my MB on my bag at night and she puts hers on the table where her phone is ( and a few other small things she has with her ) we have never misses had a problem with getting the wrong band ( even with sharing a bag a few times) as it really take 2 seconds to check the name on one of them

I would show him the replays to this thread and tell him I do not mind if we have the same color I will have green then if he dose not like to have the same color as you he can chose a different one.

Get blue, and then when you get to the park you have a reason to upgrade to a specialized one with characters. If he complains about the cost, blame him for taking green.

And to echo some other posters,I hope the fight isn't as serious as you are claiming because honestly that seems like such a silly thing to fight over.

Has it all worked itself out? All ok?

I'm in the you have got to be kidding about getting in a fight over MB colors.
Lots of families have all the same colors.
It is no issues in any way whatsoever.
