Hi all!

I’ll be taking my 14 yr old daughter this summer. We haven’t picked the dates yet. Planned to go early 2nd week June but something came up to cancel that.
I’m looking for input on best dates to go. We will only have 2 park days. July is totally open as is first week of August. Late June as well.
July 4 and 5th?
Go over a Saturday/Sunday?

ALSO:
Opinions on which is wiser.
Maxpass for both days, going one park per day,
Or park hoppers but not maxpass.

(Budget limits us or I’d go for 3 day park hoppers plus maxpass! Ha ha)

Thirdly, still have no motel booked. Have people used Priceline with good success? Again, budget matters greatly. As long as we are in a safe location and walkable, (15 mins or less) I am fine. Not picky at all.

Thank you! Can’t wait to go. It’s been 3 years. :)

I bought tickets through LMT already. Did 2 day single park. I’m not sure of the upgrade price. I had no idea Disney charged different prices depending on the day. When i went 3 years ago with my older daughter we had one day per park. Really enjoyed it as there is so much to do in each place. So I think I’m leaning towards keeping it one park per day.

You’ll love maxpass. We enjoyed both pRks a great deal. Different pricing only applies to single day tickets.

Did you pick your dates? June or July are good if the heat is good.

Check prices at best western park place inn or Desert Inn and Suites.

If you are familiar with the paper FP system and don't have a problem with the walking/running involved in using the machines, then you should be fine using the free FPs. MP would save you time and give you convenience, but the $20 per day savings could make a difference to your budget if used elsewhere. But if you plan on using PhotoPass, then MP becomes a better value. Maybe you could get MP for one day (the busier day) and use free FP for the other day?
As for dates, Pixar Pier opens June 23rd. Do you want to see it or skip it? Early August is fine -- you'll still have the lower APs blocked and HM will still be up. July 4th and 5th -- does the holiday matter to you? Do you want to spend it at DLR? I would think that hotel rates might be higher for those dates or at least for the 4th.
