Choosing an officiant

We are wondering how people chose their officiant. We have the list that Disney offers but we're unsure of who to choose. Did you just go to their websites?

Did an anyone have just a notary specialist?

I picked from the Disney list because as an Escape bride- if you pick someone from the list it doesn't count as a guest at the wedding.

I went to the websites and read reviews here. Also- you can ask for samples- thats what really sold me in the end, (even ministers sometimes offer civil ceremonies- if that's why you were asking about the notary,)

I have chosen Rev. Kenvin Knox fo our September Escaoe wedding because I really liked the sample ceremonies that he sent to us. He had a family medallion ceremony that was wonderful and it is important to my DFiance to recognize my boys in the ceremony. We also wanted a religious ceremony so we wanted a pastor.

We went with Ron (I won't even try to spell his last name right now since it's been a few months)

He's on Disney's recommended list and I'll never forget his website..lol...wedinorlando! DH thought it was so cheesy, but hey, if I can remember it still, must be good marketing.

We really loved the service and people told us that it was the most spiritual service they had attended for a non-religious ceremony. He'll send you the material he can cover and you can then work with him to customize it, or add something of your own. He's very nice and will throw in suggestions or ideas as well.

We choose Rev. Tim Herring based on recommendations and the fact that he performed the first Disney wedding (at Cindy's Castle), the 10,000, and has been filmed for some Disney Weddings on TV. (Inadvertently, our wedding became one of them! - who would've thought!?!)

Seriously, Rev. Tim was great! He made us feel like we knew him and he knew us personally (even though we only met once prior to the rehearsal). We couldn't be happier & wouldn't have wanted anyone else!

I picked one of the officiants on Disney's list. He seemed to be popular around the time I was planning my wedding, but we never really meshed. When I needed to choose a new one, I called them all and spoke to them on the phone. This really helped me to get an idea of who would be right for me and my husband.
